    Hello,
New to this thread but hoping someone can help out!
    I need cheap (2 adult + 1 infant) flights for Orlando in Jan 2008 for 8-9 days.(around 11 jan to 19 JAn)
The best I seem to get is £600 for all three tickets on ebookers but with new baby don't really have that much to spend! Flexible about flying from London/B'ham or M'chester...
Any better deals to be had that I'm missing out??

Have accomodation/ attraction tickets and car rental sorted (thanks to helpful relative in Orlando!)

If you want to fly 8-9 days that rules out the charter flights so you are looking at scheduled eg BA or VA who both fly direct to Orlando, or a raft of other carriers who fly indirect (ie you have to change flight) such as Delta, Continental, AA etc. So I would suggest because you are looking at scheduled you will be better off buying your seats sooner rather than later as the price won't reduce the closer you get (like charters do).

Are you getting £600 in total for the 3 seats, if yes that's an excellent price and I would snap it up!

If it's £600 or two seats (because you are happy to have baby on your lap for the trip) then that's still a pretty good deal.

If it's £600 for one seat that's way too expensive for Jan which should be very cheap as it's off season.

Who are the flights with through ebookers?

    thank you for the pointers!
I've got a quote on ebookers for northwest airlines for 2 adults + infant (on lap) for £599.70 incl all taxes. the changeover is at detroit; with a layover (?) of 1:35 hrs. is that usually enough or am I cutting it close??
BA and Virgin seem hugely expensive...£828 for Virgin (weekday return)
  • Hello All,

Are there "sales" in January for flights to Florida does anyone know ?

A few of us are hoping to go in the New Year and for a so-called quiet time of the year it seems quite expensive at the moment.

    Thank you !

Best bet for you is Travel City Direct [TCD] off of teletext last minute booking but it depends how many going? certainly do not believe the price they advertise on TV it nearly doubles but you can get a bargain if you press.

1:35 is very tight, not sure what they class as arrival time, but even if it is the time the plane arrives at the gate it could take you 15 mins to get off the plane, then pick up your bags get through immigration and stuff then maybe change terminals at Detroit and get through security and get to the gate, very tight indeed. I done indirect via New York this summer, over an hour queue at immigration, all in all it wasn't too bad and worth the £2,000 saving for our party but you should be able to get BA flights for under £350 at that time of year, ok £100 more but direct flights and no worries about delays, missed connections etc. not to mention cutting your travel time by at least a third. Check out BA.com or Kayak.co.uk and juggle your dates a bit

We always leave a minimum of 2 hours for changing between planes - There are so many reasons why there could be a delay, and you only have to arrive slightly late, encounter a big queue at immigration, and a long way to get from the International arrivals through to domestic departures, coupled with having to go through security again, and that 2 hours whittles down to 30 minutes without even trying...

Would suggest that you try to get a different connection, with that minimum time included...

7 Day Magic your way is $314/$44.86 per day once you add the hopper and the waterfun options. Plus tax.

Makes it $334.43. About £167 at $2=£1. We paid £153....ish from memory this summer for a 14 day Ultimate ticket once the 10% Virgin Flying Club discount was taken off. Of course we didnt use 14 days, but we had the ability to go to Universal all day and pop into Disney for the parades or fireworks in the evening. Tip......after about 7 o clock in MGM the car parking was free as they didnt have ticket men there.

Your quote above excluded tax and excluded the waterparks/disneyquest etc. which are included on the UK Ultimate tickets.

My apologies froggitt, I thought I'd selected all of those options, but aparently not. I stand by my Edit 2 comment though, that they are good if you want tickets for less than 7 days!

7 Days for 2 adults and 1 child comes in at $963.80 including all options (except never expire) and tax. Roughly £480

I prefer a bit longer than 1:35 hours, but the good thing about flying to Orlando is that if you do miss a flight there's usually one not too soon after. That said I'd still go for a slightly longer connection time personally.

I can get a price on VA (LGW - MCO direct) for £766.60 for your party, flying out 9th or 10th Jan and returning 21st Jan - if you can avoid weekends it brings the price down often. It's a bit better than your £828 but not much! This was looking at www.virginatlantic.com and not https://www.virginholidays.co.uk

    Hello guys!

I need some serious help here pls.
We have never been to Florida before and have now booked a holiday for 1st-11th November (2 adults + 2 kids, 9 and 12). Booked house thanks to other moneysaver, got several car options.

Still to get and giving me nightmares is entry tickets to parks:
Both children and I want to visit Discovery Cove (unbelievably expensive) - husband not keen -

we also want to got to Kennedy space center:rolleyes:
    Universal
    Sea world
    bush gardens
    MGM

now, I imagine all this might be impossible as we will need a second holiday resting...

Can someone pls advise what is absolutely unmissable? Do I get daily tickets?

    Please help...

    Thank you

I'm going to Orlando next Easter for 20 nights. I've been before (1992) but now we're taking our 9 year old. I've decided that you can't do everything (as you seem to realise) and I'm buying a 14 day disney ticket. Leaves us with 6 days, one of those will be a day of rest (day after we land) so only 5 days. We are doing discovery cove (1 day) along with Seaworld (say 2 days)- the same ticket allows 7 days entry to Seaworld OR Busch. You can even buy one which includes both and the new Acquatica. That leaves us with 1 day left.
We have decided to not do Universal. I know it's good but from my point of view my 9 year old would not keep up wih everything. I'm not doing Busch- it's too far away and lots of big rides and animals (Animal Kingdom will do). I would love to do Acquatica but there's Typhoon and Blizzard all on the 14 day ticket.
In a nutshell... provided what you do you enjoy... does it really matter what you miss out on. I believe you may as well enjoy the full experience than a watered down one. I also want to do some shopping and an air boat ride and daytona beach. Having the 14 day disney ticket allows you to visit later in the day without feeling you've wasted a ticket.
Yes I've rambled...sorry...just remember the watered down bit and make your choices wisely. (When you are home if anyone says the usual 'Did you do that....you missed out' etc remember what you did and may have missed that instead!!.)
