A quick thanks to mymatebob and duchy for putting me straight on that one. I've been to Florida over 30 times and didn't have a clue that they locked my credit. I'm not out to give incorrect advice, so thanks to both of you! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

It is, to be fair, not something that they would normally tell you.
I have a mate you used to work in a very posh hotel in London.
When they took the credit card from guests they would "guesstimate" if they were likely high-rollers who would be spending a bob or two. They would easily decide on £250 a night to be put on the CC (and this was in the 80s)
Sometimes they wouldn't release the money until a week later - just laziness on their part.0 -
You have got me worried now. I'm staying at the Travelodge on I-Drive in June. Surely they won't be using up money on my credit card? I need that money on the holiday etc?!
Also how much do car hire firms charge a day for those under 25?0 -
Sorry one last question. I have read that you are not allowed to lock your suitcases when flying to USA. Is this correct? What does everyone else do please. I don't like the thought of my luggage being unlocked.0

I am off over to Florida this Saturday for three weeks and I am taking my lap top with me. Does anyone know if there are any wireless hotspots and will my laptop work over there. Thanks in advance0

It certainly will work, check out your resort/hotel first of all, if no free access then its worth checking the whereabouts of McDonalds to see where their wireless restaurants are.0

Hi
If the American customs want to check your case they will break the locks (we don't bother to lock because we always bring back odd things like a winnie the pooh kettle, goober and a big snowglobe and we have been searched twice out of 4 journeys)
They always leave the cases tidier then we packed them and never any damage
