Hi everyone, I'm off to Florida on Tuesday mega excited! Thanks for all the help of the posters.
Just another question!! There is just me and other half going, flying with Thomson - our baggage allowance is 20kg. Does anyone know how many cases we can take between us? and does it matter if one is 30kg and one is 10kg.
I probs sound a bit silly but I can't seem to work it out
thanks:A Carpe diem :AOfficial Market Maven

Hi, sorry if this is a bit off topic but am buying a house in Celebration but I can't get out until 3 July because of commitments and am finding the cost of flights a tad on the expensive side. All around £500 plus .
Is it because of the 4 July? Will they go down if I leave it another week or is July always horribly expensive. Booked to go in August with AA and only costing £1040 for me and the two kids.
Thanks. There are three ways to get something done; do it yourself, hire someone or forbid your kids to do it.0 -

When I applied online it all went through instantly and I printed off the confirmation straight away. Perhaps you could just try filling in the application again.

The doctor says he wont prescribe antibiotics as yet unless it gets worse and we were wondering if we get worse on holiday can I walk into a chemist and get antibiotics or do I have to see a doctor?
You would need a prescription from a local Dr to get anything from a US pharmacy, unless you are just looking for standard over-the-counter drugs. Walgreens and CVS are the big chemists in the area (ask for "drug stores" in America), and many are open 24 hours. Walgreens (notably their location on Apopka-Vineland Rd in Lake Buena Vista near Disney) also has a Take Care walk-in clinic (8am-7.30pm Mon-Fri, 9.30am-5pm Sat and Sun) which can easily take care of minor ailments and illnesses, often more cheaply (and quicker) than some of the other outpatient facilities in Orlando. Don't be afraid to ask the resident pharmacist for recommendations for over-the-counter medicines as they are usually very helpful.
NB: For all ESTA applications, it is important to make a note of your confirmation number, as you will need this to change any details of your trip or future visits within the 2-year 'window.'Is it because of the 4 July? Will they go down if I leave it another week or is July always horribly expensive.
Sadly, July is usually one of the most expensive times of the year to travel to the US because it is in a main holiday period (like Christmas - also horribly expensive). Earlier in the month ought to be a bit cheaper than mid-July, when the schools break up, but many airlines have also reduced capacity this year, hence there are fewer late deals to be had. You might also want to check the charter flights (Monarch, Thomas Cook, and Thomsonfly) as they sometimes have some late deals for flight-only, while other airlines you might check are FlyGlobespan (via Glasgow) and Icelandair (via Reykjavik).0 -
Do people recommend the Disney Dining Plan? Going to Orlando in August (not booked yet!) but am debating staying in a Disney hotel compared to a villa. (Always stayed in a hotel a little way out of Disney before).
If we book now we get the Disney Dining plan for free - is it worth it? We usually would not book full board at a hotel because we like to try different places and atmospheres, but obviously with the Disney Dining Plan there are lots of oppurtunities for different places to eat.
So, question is, is it worth it, how do you find it works for you, and is it a good moneysaver! We wouldn't plan to spend all the time in parks, but if we were at a Disney hotel could eat there, or try other hotels.
Thanks
