    Yikes! You are kidding, right?

This would be the road to appalling sunburn for me (and I suspect many others!)

And that would be nothing like a good tan :rotfl:
  • Also are the cash machines at the airport (MCO) easy to spot - was thinking of just drawing out money as soon as we got there or is this a bit "last minute" to get $ for tolls etc?

Yes, there are plenty of cash machines at the airport (and in other places - most banks have drive-through ones where you don't even have to get out of the car!). Just be aware they are called ATM Machines in the US, so looks for signs that display the ATM sign.
Getting the orlando flexi plus ticket , does this cover the halloween horror nights or do these need to be bought seperatly.

Yes, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal is a completely separate ticket for this evening event and is not covered by the Orlando FlexTicket. It is a great event, though (if you enjoy people trying to scare you silly!! I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 16, though), and you can get a Frequent Fear Pass which provides multi-day access (but NOT weekends) for the price of a 1-day ticket. Look up their website at www.halloweenhorrornights.com and you can buy tickets online, too.
Did you buy tickets for the Magic Show beforehand, or just were you able to get in without a problem? We are going in August, so I was thinking it will be quite busy.

We just bought on the door and the first show of the evening was only about half full. But this was in May, when things were pretty quiet throughout Orlando. It's always advisable to book in advance if you can. The first show of the night always seems to be the quieter one, too.

I just wanted to post to say that so far we have booked our park tickets and car hire through Thomas Cook Torquay. After much research and looking on these types of forum, we have telephoned TC to see what they can do. We have been amazed to find that they have been prepared to undercut by a sustantial amount (not just a couple of pounds as you would expect). Hope others can benefit from this post!!!

Ours worked out at £213 each for 14 day unlimited passes for adults once the exchange rate was put through in the CCard.

15 days parking plus one night's accommodation at the airport in Edinburgh the night before we fly for £53.:money: How very MSE - was explaining it all to our DD yesterday - said we weren't mean , just careful where we spent the money...

Using FHR instead of boking hotel direct £53 instead of £100
Using Nationwide card instead of Barclaycard to pay for tickets £638 compared to £659
Buying tickets from undercover tourist instead of Disney £638 instead of £705
So that's an extra £135 available to spend in Florida, just for a little effort.;)

  • Just in response to the earlier Budget rentacar reply, i just got back from Florida, and we rented a car from Budget and i would never use them again.
Hired a GPS from them that wouldn't work in the car supplied, longer than 30 min waits on the customer service phone line before giving up, rude service from the woman in the South Beach office, no-one ever picks up the phone at the MCO counter, or returns your calls.
They refunded us the GPS fee of course, and after requesting compensation, they did refund us a full day, but it simply wasn't worth the headache.

11 days to go and counting for our first trip!! Just needing some advise on the money side of things. Looking to take about £2000 and putting £1500 on a card. Does any one have any ideas which card would be best. I have a Nationwide Debit card so could put it on that but someone has mentioned the Post Office Travel card. Would bassically be paying for meals and things on them, and not taking money from cash machines.
Would be gratefull for any help. Ta
    Nice to save.

I use a Post Ofice Mastercard just for spending abroad, they don't charge you a fee for using it and never had any problems with them, i'm a bit doubtful you could get one in 11 days though, I think mine my have come through that quickly but it might be a bit tight timewise.

  • I go to Florida in a weeks time and both my wife and I are suffering from a virus.

The doctor says he wont prescribe antibiotics as yet unless it gets worse and we were wondering if we get worse on holiday can I walk into a chemist and get antibiotics or do I have to see a doctor
