Is there anything else that I need to watch out for? I don't want to be hit with a huge bill as soon as we get there.
Are you under 25? If so there will be a premium of ~20 dollars a day to pay. Also some will apparently try and sell you personal injury insurance but this should be covered by your travel insurance.
I have no experience yet, going for the first time myself in a few weeks and am hiring a car off budget, I had to take the young drivers package as under 25 which was a hit but works out cheaper than paying the premium when you get there.0 -
How much would people think it would cost on average for 1 person for 14 nights with park tickets and spending money etc?0

Hi all.
Sorry for such a repetitive question but I am lookinf for cheap flights from UK (any airport but closer to Yorkshire the better) for 2 adults, 2 children @ 13 & 8.
Flying out 8/9/10 Aug 09 and coming back 28/29/30 Aug 09. Have been trying to get under £2K for months but still can't do it.
Any help gratefully received.
Also, what is the cheapest way to car hire in Ordlando these days with CDW etc. Haven't been since 2000 so can't really remember.
Cheers all for any advice on either matterDigger:dance:0 -

hi, have been looking on travelsupermarket.com and kayak.com for weeks too, we live teesside and were looking for flights from anywhere really......managed to book flights last week from glasgow 7th aug to 23rd aug for £340 with usairways(ebookers.com), change plane and 2hr stopover in philadelphia then onto orlando int., return journey has 5hr stop but this saved us more than £800 doing it this way and our kids are 17 and 12 so they wont mind....
total £1360...have been checking prices since just out of interest, so if and when they come up again i would grab them, as they seem to be £560+ at the mo

We always take out 'collision damage waiver' - I think loss damage waiver only covers the car if it is stolen. Collision damage waiver covers the car if it gets damaged or crashed. Last year, someone crashed into our car in a car park (and drove off) - fortunately, we didn't have to pay a penny. Collision damage waiver is expensive though. Also, if you need to hire car seats for children, they work out quite expensive. Much better to take your own (we flew Virgin, and they didn't count towards the luggage allowance).0 -
I'll look into that, thanks pinkzebra
I think the kids should be fine, they need booster seats because of the rules over here that mean they need them until 13 (much to my son's disgust lol). But I've been told there are no such rules over there.

In the UK kids must reach a height of 135cm to be allowed to sit in an ordinary seat on an everyday basis. Or reach 12 years of age.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

My lad was 5 and they blew him out. Reason being the seat belts are adjustable in most US cars.
If you are paranoid then pick a booster seat up for about $8 from walmart.0 -
unlikely. i know that isnt allowed for hand luggage, and im guessing there are health and safety limits on weights that baggage handlers can handle...
I'd buy that if it was the same for all classes, but if you are flying PE or even Upper its still 32kgSelf confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!
