    A couple of quick questions.

Firstly, do children have to have booster seats in the car as they do in the UK (they will be 11 and 9 when we go)?

And second, I've noticed people saying that Virgin have stuff for kids to do on the flights, does anyone know if Continental Airlines have anything?

No, in the US kids of 9 & 11 don't need booster seats, if your kids are midgets then usually the seat belts can be adjusted lower to suit them.

Virgin only have a bag which satisfies the kids for about 2 minutes and CO is the same. Just take some stuff for them or spike them with temazepam ;)

    Hi

As mrs cjd just passed her florida driving test she tells me any child over 5 can use a normal seat belt if they fit

as for planes, realy please do not rely on the airlines to supply stuff, we take a bag of pens and coluring books, ipods and DS's and that does the job

At present in a villa on the I27.very nice weather lovely,Firstly some sad news Seaworld no longer has the hospitality suite its now called the Terrace and no longer gives away free beer. The Manta looks quite awesome. Running today but only empty hoping for some 'soft' rides but not yet. Opening on the 20 May.
Sometime back someone posted about a night time feast of some sort at the Polynesian resort. I am sure i never dreamt it, can someone come up with the details thanks.
Had a couple off meals at the golden corral really has improved from last year.
    Thats it for now.
    Hi Atro

We are here to although north on the US27 in Clermont at our place.

I did the Luau last year with our neighbours and had a blast. So much so we are staying at the Poly for our anniversary this summer.

The seating is tiered and the pricing changes. Whilst its all you can drink they stop serving booze as the show starts so fill yer boots!

    Cheers

    All

I just wanted to share a tale (another nice one) about something Disney have done whilst on our trip which was uncalled for and really made a difference.

We went to the AK this week and my DS who is 4 lost the big pin off his laynard and was so upset. I reported it to a CM who took all the details of what it was etc and when we last saw it. The poor soul was heartbroken.

Anyway, the next day I received an email from Disney saying that unfortunately they can not find but they were sending him a brand new big laynard weighted pin AND a new laynard AND a load of new pims including the not for sale Disney Pin Trading Tradition pin.

How nice was that? All I wanted was for them to let us know if they found it.

Well done all at Disney!! Kieran will be over the moon when he receives this complete pin set.

    Cheers

were off to florida on 6th june, just wondered if anyone had any ideas on keeping a 4 & 2 year old occupied on the flight, my little lad has a ds he's taking with him but he'll get fed up with this after a while. Also may be a totally silly question but can you take your own sandwiches etc on the flight my kids are fussy eaters and probably won't touch the inflight meal.

    Thanks

    Hi Claire

We have been travelling with my now 7 and 4 year old to Florida since they were both babes in arms. So we have been through the stages and are now luckly that DS's and wordsearchsed, Ipods and filmns do the trick.

When they were a little younger we took a bag on board just for them one of those Disney flight cases and filled it wih pens and colouring books and scrap paper etc. We played "squares" and tic tac toe etc. For me I loved having 9 hours to play with them with no work or anything so it was bliss to keep them happy. I also recorded a few phineas and ferbs and other cartoons and played those on my laptop for them.

As for food , yes you can take sarnies and snacks and sweets and even drinks once you have passed security. You will just have to use or lose the sarnies before you get off.

I am looking into booking a holiday now for 2010, i was looking to go with my disbabled husband and he is not keen on large crowds (i know probably not going to be his best holiday) going with our five year old and a carer, i was wondering what time of the year would be the quietist to go. not really bothered about the weather, no hurricanes would be a bonus, lol.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi Ashley

I have been fortunate enough to come to Florida in every month and the advice you have been given is sound. I this Jan is quiet but the evenings can be cold. This year we had such bad frost in Jan and Feb that I have spent the last week pulling dead plants out from around the pool. Was freezing for two nights although this was rare

Feb and MArch are still chilly and night but still busy. April and May suffers of course from Easter, Spring Break in the USA and May for half term UK so weeks either side of those get busy.

May /June after half term is awesome with great weather and lower crowds. July and August are fantastic for weather day and night but it will rain and you will probably get a nice little hurricane to keep you bust. US kdis go back o school early August (from May!) and so towards the end of August is not bad although still v busy

September a great time. All kids back to school so quiet and still the weather is brill.

Oct is great starting to get cooler at night and then half term looms near the end of it. But great time to be here with Halloween which is a real experience over in the US.

November and December still nice with thanksgiving and Christmas holidays etc so it gets busy

So September or Jan or first two weeksMay are my suggestions.

As for your hubby, there is an awful lot of help available over here for people with special challanges. Check out that section specically related to this on https://www.allears.net

  • My Partner and I are thinking of going Orlando for 2 weeks in Sept. Can anyone recommend a good hotel in the Internation Drive area.

    Thanks
