Thanks for all the opinion's good and not so good regarding Seaworld certainly got me thinking.

I haven't got my currency yet and wondered if the clever people on here can recommend where the best place to exchange cash, ie Post Office, Travel Agent, or Bank to get best rate / no commission etc.

Does experience suggest travel cheques or cash or a mix?
    All advice is gratefully appreciated.
Hi. First time I have noticed over here. Several places are no longer taking Travellers cheques. How widespread it is I do not know, just a word to the wise. I am a fan of a little cash and then credit card Abbey, Nationwide etc.
Sturll you really do come across as the 'Angry Young Man' I have no idea of your actual age, but 'disabled are treated like Gods'. 'rides are C**p,' 'Seaworld is rubbish'. Quite harsh. Oh and yes I am disabled. And I am still waiting to be treated like a God. In fact I have the impression we are a nuisance, but then perhaps I am being too sensitive!
Did Epcot and MK today very busy, and watched the fireworks at Epcot changed a little from last year but still very good.

My Partner and I are thinking of going Orlando for 2 weeks in Sept. Can anyone recommend a good hotel in the Internation Drive area.
    Thanks

We have stayed at SpringHill Suites Orlando Convention Center and is rated as No 4 in Orlando hotels.

Just had a quick look at the Crowd Calendar on www.touringplans.com and they seem to think that Sep & October will be pretty quiet this year, so i would guess it will be the same next year, depending on holidays. (they were pretty accurate for our trip in April).

It is a subscription site, but if you buy the Unofficial Guide to Disney, you get a free subscription for a year (which is what I got). I found the book pretty good, but it is very indepth (800 pages or something)

I have bought the Unofficial Guide and a Brits Guide. Think I prefer the Unofficial Guide but was really surprised ast how big it was. The touring plans seem to make sense so I will def be using them. The Unofficial Guide also a really good rating system for each ride so you can cherry pick those with good reviews, same with the restaurants.

I bought both and prefer the Brits guide as it is more compact and covers more than just Disney - but this year we were only doing 2 Disney Parks, so the Unofficial one wasn't as needed.

With the Unofficial guide, however, I found the crowd calendar indispensible and found the touring plans very useful - it is very easy to arrive at a park and get lost in the moment and end up missing out and things you wanted to do, so it helps keep you focussed and helps you try and fit everything in.

I would recommend the Unofficial guide to anyone who is doing a lot of Disney Parks, or planning at staying at one of their resorts, especially if you have never been before - and even if you have the touring plans and the crowd calendar probably make it worth the money - although you can get these by subscribing to their site.

(I sound like a sales rep for the book now!!)

I can't tell you the enjoyment I have had out of reading both of these books, with never having been before it has made me realise the enormity of it all. The trouble is I have picked up that many tips I will have to take a suitcase with all my notes. I like the tips on registering for discount coupons for resturants and shopping (I think doing all that will pay for more than the costs of the books.)

I fully intend to follow the Tour Planners. If you see a mad woman with a loads of notes /discount coupons in Orlando that will be me:o
I have found www.thedibb.co.uk extremely useful for car hire guidance etc.
I have also bought the big Orlando map (don't think my brain can absorb much more.)

The number of times I went somewhere and then realised afterwards that I had a coupon

And second, I've noticed people saying that Virgin have stuff for kids to do on the flights, does anyone know if Continental Airlines have anything?

None of the Continental flights I have ever been on (I think about fourteen times in total?) have had kids bags or packs.

The last few transatlantic flights with them we've had seatback TVs and entertainment which has amused my children for hours.

I agree with the previous comment that the Virgin Kids packs are not good for more than a few minutes' distraction ;)

    All

I just wanted to share a tale (another nice one) about something Disney have done whilst on our trip which was uncalled for and really made a difference.

We went to the AK this week and my DS who is 4 lost the big pin off his laynard and was so upset. I reported it to a CM who took all the details of what it was etc and when we last saw it. The poor soul was heartbroken.

Anyway, the next day I received an email from Disney saying that unfortunately they can not find but they were sending him a brand new big laynard weighted pin AND a new laynard AND a load of new pims including the not for sale Disney Pin Trading Tradition pin.

How nice was that? All I wanted was for them to let us know if they found it.

Well done all at Disney!! Kieran will be over the moon when he receives this complete pin set.

    Cheers

That is such a lovely gesture :T:T
