Just make sure before you book. Think the £149 relates to 2007 tickets
Even so, dont see how they will be able to sell out of date tickets. They are part of a large reputable company. Never brought passes from them, but I have used their car hire for years and always comes up the cheapest with the best offers.
They price match too!!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Hi everyone,
I was looking for some advice from you Florida Experts out there!!
We are hoping to go to Florida in 2009 (I know - a bit early to be planning but I just wanted some initial thoughts!). There are 2 adults and 2 kids (will be 3 and 6). We would ideally like to rent a villa so we can go to disney etc for a week and then drive (?) to the Keys for a week. Can anyone tell me how this would work with the car hire (would a fly drive be best- or flight and car hire separately?) - is it generally OK to drive that many miles? Am I right in thinking we would have to drive back to Orlando airport to fly home - is that the nearest to the Keys? I can see that there are loads of Villas near disney - but what would people recommend as accommodation in the keys? Are there many villas there or would it really be hotels? Can anyone recommend one that caters for small kids? I know this is all really vague, but we are total Florida novices and it sounds quite complicated.
Any thoughts on any aspect of it greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for reading!0 -

The closest proper airport to the Keys is Miami Intenational which would reduce your drive to Orlando by 3 1/2 hours or so.
I've never been to the Keys so feel free to ignore what I am going to saybut it wouldn't be my first choice for children of 3 & 6. It's a really long drive from Orlando to the first bit of the Keys (4 hours or so) and obviously a lot more of a drive the further south you go.
Was there a particular reason you wanted the Keys? As there may be other options in Florida to give you what you want with less travelling.
If you are after a fantastic beach, those on the Gulf Coast (Clearwater, St Pete Beach, Sarasota etc) are simply wonderful and around 2 hours from Orlando. When I first took my children (funnily enough at the ages of 3 & 6 like you!) and they far preferred the beach to the themeparks :rolleyes:0 -
Hi, I booked to go for our first trip to Disney in October 2007. I am staying on the Disney site (in the Polynesian) and took advantage of the Disney Dining Plan for my family. In the brochures it stated we would get Starter/Main/dessert & Non Alcoholic beverage with the Table Service Meal.
I am now looking to do Advance Reservations and read on the disney uk website that Disney has changed the offer and no longer offers the Starter.
If this is the case, then I wonder if anyone could confirm where we (and I assume thousands of other people) stand on this issue?
I appear to have paid for something that has now been downgraded but there is no mention anywhere of refunds or compensation?
Before I go back to my holiday company, I wonder if anybody else has noticed this and whether they took it up with their holiday company?0 -
As KarenG said, for kids, the keys will be ok for a few days but it's more geared up for young partying adults, not much around for young children why not try what i did last month and take a mini cruise from miami, the one we where on stopped at key west for a day then down to cozumel, mexico. obviously lots of stuff for the kids on the ship and you'll be surprised at how little they can cost. (2 adults with a seaview cabin cost us a little over £330). and if you book your car with alamo, you can get a free shuttle bus from the hire depot to the ship and back again.
you can also take the cruises from port canaveral (1 hr from orlando) or tampa ( 1 1/2 hour form orlando).
i would book my car seperately, get the cheapest you can, see what the offer you then haggle an upgrade, they will try and get you to take an upgrade first but it's worth seeing what you would have got.0 -
hiya
any advice on what communities are ok looking at highlands reserve, vista park linfields, or can anyone recommend any/
looking for a villa to rent but am a bit dubious, any villa rental sites to recommend ?
thanks in advance0 -
It will be very hot and humid, super-busy and the flight relatively expensive. Sorry that's probably not what you want to hear
So it shouldn't be too bad...should it?0 -
Ive been told by some people who live in Florida that Florida is classed as a winter destination and not to worry about american achool hols as they go else where.....checked uk hols and they mainly start 20th July onwards, I should of left Florida by that date to go miami...
So it shouldn't be too bad...should it?
Miami is off season then, so it won't be busy (though it will be very hot!)
I think you mentioned a week in Orlando though, so sorry if I've misunderstod.
I would not choose to be in Orlando (assuming you are visiting for the themeparks) during that time. We have been then before as we are restricted by school holidays, but if you have a choice, go at a different time0
