In Oct you are getting to end of it. I was there last August and the weather was dreadful, hurricanes etc. However there is so much to do even when its raining yo9u will be fine.
Oct is still hot and nice time to go
As for trip advisor, i know its independent but I take what they say with a pinch of salt. I think the Unofficial Guide to Walkt Disney world by Len Tester is a much bettert guide to Orlando hotels.

Hi,we are staying at the wyndham hotel on international drive, in April.
Is anyone familiar with this hotel (good or bad) Forewarned is for armed!
Thanks0 -
We are hoping to go again in late October, but the price of flights is high at the moment (half-term?).
Does anybody know whether Virgin are likely to release any more lower priced seats any time soon?
Thanks
Depending on when you are going and where you are staying we found it was cheaper to book a cheap bog standard resort with a free childs place and cheap 2nd child place than it was for the cost of flights. Going in December the flights were £900+ for 2 adults, 2 kids yet I could book an entire holiday for less than £3,000 with accomodation leaving on the same date.
Play around with the dates. Also look at ba.com I always said I would not fly with BA but they are much cheaper than Virgin at the moment - maybe Virgin will price fix. We wanted to go Xmas 2009 but it is looking unlikely for us ATM. We found flights for £1,100 for 4 of us to go to Disney and accomodation seems to be quite cheap. I do like Virgin but with the price of the $ you need to cut costs where you can.
I looked to 'book' a break and to book online ourselves we got Pop for £950 and the flights for £1,100 - yet Virgin prices the exact same holiday at £3,200. They are offering a cheap pass if you travel and arrive BEFORE 1st October so bear this in mind. 14 days ultimate pass for the price of 7!!
Each time I go they seem to add on the cost of something else, now there are no transfers included and Virgin are charging £30 each. Yet if you book to stay at a Disney Resort with Expedia you can get the 'Disney Magical Express' for free and that saves you the money on a cab one way and you only need to pay for a return.
I know it sounds a bit anal but start doing lists, play with dates and times and check prices, check prices of hotels online against the price on the agents site - with the rate as it is then it is all the better to save it on the holiday so you have more to spend when you are there.
Don;t forget to plan a trip to Wal-Mart on your first day - you can get everything you need and it saves having to spend a fortune on snacks and drinks in the park and at your hotel. If you have a fridge in your room use it and buy and store'subs' as they are huge for something silly like $3 and they are so big they will feed and adult and child at the very least.0 -

I just don't get it. I go back next week, and will definitely be quizzing my tame cast members on that one!
WHAT?!? This is where we are looking to book for, trying to work out what to do for the best as DS starts Year 1 in Spetember, we have to go at a quite and cool time at I am worried about taking him out of year 1 before he has settled (ASD so this is going to be a huge step for him). Still not decided, wanted Boxing Day but DH does not think he will get next Xas off work as he was off this Xmas. Typical!!
Can you tell me some more?? I am off to Google....0 -

I am sorry I did not mean to panic you. They have only just applied for the permits and it will take a while. They will convert and area at a time.
Why not call the hotel directly and ask. Whilst I love the Pop Century the All Star Sports is also very good in my viewSelf confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

If I remember rightly this used to the the Marriott on I drive and is a lovely spread out hotel. I stayed there one Christmas in 1991 so a long long time ago but it was very nice.

Thanks CJD, just been checking out the DisBoards and a CM said that it was a refurb rather than closure.
I have stayed at Movies but was not that impressed tbh, I am not sure why, but things are different this time. I think a week in Pop and then a week somewhere else (Seaworld Marriot?) is going to be a better option. Still undecided, we are in a Vacation Club and can bank our holidays to use those in Florida for £160 which is a bargain as we know we'll get fantasitic accomodation. We went 2007 and I wanted to wait til my youngest was big enough to get on the next sized rides so we are not going all that way and doing the same old thing. IYSWIM.
Mind you, we stayed at the Radisson on Celebration last time and it was the prefect base for everything if all be told, the Lynx stopped outside the hotel and went up to the Transportation Centre, I'd recommend this hotel to any non-drivers who wanted to stay outside for definate.
Another tip for non-drivers, get the name/card of a taxi driver and they will do you deals on trips around. We spend less on Taxi's and bus fares than we would have done on the cost of a car!0 -
Happy new year BM!
I don't like the All Stars either. I can't put my finger on why, but the rooms at Pop Century seem altogether brighter and the theming just seems more fun. Also, I don't like that corner out by Animal Kingdom as its just further to get to the rest of mouseworld. I'll ask my cast-member mates what's happening and pm you when I get back the end of Jan...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
