hi, i am hoping to take my daughter who will be 5 and my husband for their first trip to florida at some point next year (i went about 15 years ago), just wondering how you people are already booking for next oct/dec? the websites i have looked at only seem to go up to april? am i missing something?

also, as little un starts school this sept we are restricted to the school summer holiday dates (looking to depart sometime between july 20th and august 20th) so has anyone got a rough idea of what a good price to pay would be? it's a long time since we've been abroad and i don't want to get ripped off!

    many thanks

They would be crazy to shut Pop Century, it is by far the best value resort and beats All Stars in terms of theming and location hands-down. Though they did use it to house Katrina refugees I seem to remember.

I just don't get it. I go back next week, and will definitely be quizzing my tame cast members on that one!

Thanks Craig for the very prompt response,

I will try playing around on the BA and Virgin websites as suggested with my dates and Florida/UK airport and see what I get.

Regarding the villa, I will try to get addresses of ones we are interested in and if you dont mind telling me if its close to or far from the parks I'll be much obliged.

    Not a problem at all

We are hoping to go again in late October, but the price of flights is high at the moment (half-term?).

Does anybody know whether Virgin are likely to release any more lower priced seats any time soon?

    Thanks
Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T
  • Thanks Craig
    Hotels.com are more expensive
I`ve ordered the Brits guide you recommend so many thanks!
Thanks also to Sharon. good to know roomsnet have been used without problem.

Now to find cheap flights from Cardiff, can`t seem to find any flights under a grand for two adults and a child though, would go from Bristol or at a push Birmingham. I know Gatwick are cheaper but wanted to try and find some closer first.

Also is 33in ok in legroom. I`m a bit claustrophobic but don`t really want to upgrade on the flight to premium seating for more legroom to save money, unless its really uncomfortable.

    thanks in advance

You should try Ba to Tampa. Honestly we are going during half term, fly the 18th Oct and back Nov 1 and it was 188 plus tax each . It dropped a little.

Really do not be afraid of going to Tampa. The immigration is much easier and the drive is only 1hr and 15m to Orlando from Tampa. The car hire is much quicker too.

Please check out the prices. The airport code is TPA

    Hi Mel

No prob. Have a look at kayak.co.uk for flights. I think Continental fly from Bristol. As for leg room 33 inch is lush. Virgin adn BA economy is only 31!

All the best and good luck.

    Cheers

    Hi there

A lot of it depends on what you are booking. If you are going to book a package then I think Virgin holidays and now Travel City Direct will do up to 18 months in advance but I am sure someone will correct me. For flights only BA let you book just under 12 months away and Virgin I think is about 11 months. So you are probably OK now.

As for the school. We are in the same boat and its a pain. Supply and demand is that we will always pay more during these times and nothing we can do about that. However if you school is like ours we are allowed to take the kids out of school for 10 days a year. So we use one week in May and one in October. We just fill out a form

I know its not ideal but some people work out if they are going to get fined by teh school what the fine is and work out the saving for going outside the holidays. May be worth a look.

My kids are only 6 and 4 (and the 4 year old does not actually start infant school until Tuesday - bless) so they dont miss much so I do not feel bad at all.

    HTH

  • Hi,

    Just after some help/advice really!

Looking to book a holiday to WDW in for March of this year, covering the 23rd as that is my Mums birthday and she wants to be there for it, we have been quoted in the region of £5,000 as it is for 3 adults and 1 child for 14 nights, and this is without food! We want to stay in the resort itself so that is partly why the price is so high,

However when looking around I found the hotel- Pop Century- and this seemed quite a bit cheaper- has anyone been there and would they recommend it? Also, i was on the Thomas Cook website and in its 'Highlights' for the hotel is said that there was Free Car Rental and also Disney Dining Plan, has anyone booked with Thomas Cook, as when i went to the final page it never mentioned anything of the two, which i thought was a bit odd?

Btw, i was quoted £2,977 for two weeks in Pop Century but that is leaving in May which is not ideal but if nothing else cheaper appears...

    Thanks for any help!
