Sizzlers is awful. Really bad. Like golden carroll
each to their own mind you
I thought you was having a laugh with Wendy's!
The fact is, and if were honest here most American food tastes like cardboard and flavourless. My last meal in the States was last week at Gordon Ramseys at the London West in Los Angeles. and whilst it was a lovely meal it was not quite British food.
American food lacks flavour and tastes light, almost the same as American Beer.0 -

I'm not the biggest fan of American chain eateries either.
It could be worse, you should try being a vegetarian... Things have got better over the last 10 years (when all you could get was a salad and I lost a stone every time I went on holiday), but I wish American servers would realise that vegetarians in the UK do not eat fish!
Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden are my faves. I do miss Jungle Jims though, they did great veggie burgers. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I know what you mean, my diet seems to consist of veggie burgers, salad or a pizza for the 2 weeks im away. Not much choice for vegetarians. Always one of the things I look forward to when I come home - a home cooked meal!0

Simple answer
Stop being a vegetarian and realise how much you're missing out on when were talking about a medium well, flame grilled sirloin.0 -
I'm just back from two weeks in Orlando - the first time I've been back in about 10 years. I had all these fond memories of Sizzlers, Dennys etc that were just destroyed while I was over, they were terrible!
I have to recommend Bahama Breeze though (I think it's a chain in the US but the main one is in Florida and on International Drive). The food really is excellent and it's a "scratch" kitchen apparently so everything is made as you order, so the veggies in our party had no problems ordering the pasta or kebab dishes off the menu but got them made up with no meat or fish and it was still fabulous!
Have to agree in general though, the food comes in enormous quantities in most places, but really isn't very good.0 -
I must join in the thread about eateries. Being that I am a pig!
When we first visited Florida Golden coral stood out from all the others for choice and taste, my, how its gone down.Sizzlers has never been very good.
The Carvery station did nothing for me but the wife found it OK. The Las Vegas buffet is while decidedly tatty, better choice than most. We found a great deal of difference between different buffets of the same company.
Just past Many's on the I27 is a buffet called Farmers buffet or something similar they were great---midweek but Sundays it is so packed with the blue rinse brigade kept running out of things. But the food is plentiful, while hardly healthy, its fills you up for a day in the parks.
We found that its so much tastier to cook in, always going to villas.
DizzyBee be very careful of what you take into the states. No diary, no meat and no fruit. them little 'sniffer' Spaniels are deadly, and it can mean an instant fine! We do remember a young lady with a baby and her packet meals were confiscated because they had meat and fruit in.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
