  • Thanks guys, I will have a look at the ultimate tickets.

I thought you didn't get fast pass with every ticket? I thought I read that somewhere?
  • Alright guys - great thread, really informative.

Anyway I'm off to Orlando with a friend at the start of June for 14 nights.

I really just need an opinion on which of the Quality Inn's on ID to stay in.

Quality Inn International or Plaza - Trip Advisor seems to sway towards the International.

    Thanks in advance

What I tend to do is search through the hotels on tripadvisor, starting at the ranked number 1 in International Drive, and keep going through them til you find one that's the right price....

We stayed at the Hampton Inn South of Universal last time, it's not actually on International Drive (it's on Kirkham) but it's literally a 2 minute walk til you're on Idrive, just by Wet'n'wild.

Beds are extremely comfortable, didn't want to get out of them in the morning, comes with breakfast (which was ok, not fantastic but worked well to fill you up for the day ahead), the rooms were very clean, modern, and the most important thing - they give you warm cookies at 6pm every night! Staff are very friendly, and as a bonus because it's not on Idrive you don't get all the traffic noise.

If I was going back to Idrive I'd definately stay there again, it's a fantastic hotel

Not sure what you mean - you can get a fast pass with any ticket you can get in disney with...just stick your ticket in the machine and bobs your uncle :)

As a side note it's really recommended that you get fast passes for some of the rides immediately. Soarin' in Epcot is one of them, we wandered past at about 1pm and there were no more fastpasses, and the standby queue was 90 minutes.

    Hi Dave

    Pressure is on now :)

Amy had a good suggestion. However I think most of you know Idrive is not my preferred location. Dont get me wrong I can understand why many people like it but its not for me. Its hard to suggest unless I know the dates and the kinda stuff you are going to do once there. I may presume (which is dangerous as the current Mrs Disney_CJD tells me) that you want the usual Universal, Sea World and maybe the odd Disney?

If you want something not Ritz but not Hollywood Hotel (Tower of Terror) then I would try for a chain hotel. If you were looking around the 100 buck a night room then you can get some great hotels. Look for Sheratons, Marriotts (may bne a little obver a 100 buks for them) even the Raddison. Avoid the Ramadas or Econlodges if you do not want the cheaper option. Also dont look at the quality inns. The comfort inns are OK as are the Days Inn - nopthing special but OK.

I think the Floridadays is a nice hotel as one of the MSE poster above had picked which is at the LBV end of IDrive.

I only staryed on idrive once which was Christmas 1991 and it was at the then Marriott not I think its the Wyndym.

I will do some more digging later and come back to you

    Cheers

Just got this from my hire company - looks like it will apply to us all?

Economy car hire is one from the MSE list

    Dear Customer,
    Regarding booking reference: xxxxx

Our supplier (Budget Rentacar) have notified us that the Orlando International Airport Authority have introduced a Customer Facility Charge, which will apply to all rentals taking place from 1st October onwards at Orland International Airport.
The charge will be $2.50 per day plus tax up to a maximum charge of $12.50 plus tax.
This is a non-optional charge for all customers collecting a vehicle from a desk in the airport. the charge has been enforced by the airport authority and is out of our control.
Please contact us if you require any further information.

    Best regards,
    Reservations Team

thanks disney, but the info is for battyboimatt, not for me, i wish i was going over again, but alas i have only just returned, we will have to wait until 8 years, then we can return, shame about tcd as we went with them this year and could not recommend them enough, hopefully somebody will buy them, as they was a top company to deal with, and was hoping to use them again next time, dave
