May would probably be the best as once you get into June it does get very hot plus there are a lot of school trips at the parks.0

are you choosing to fly direct and on weekends?
I looked for myself, my girlfriend and my daughter who will be 6 months in october.
The cheapest i got saturday to saturday was with thomsonfly.com who fly to sanford direct and that was about £900 for the 3 of us.
BUT I have now booked to fly wednesday to wednesday and got flights for £320 for the 2 adults and my daughter is £37 on the lap. This is with Delta, though similar prices were with US Airways and AA. Try opodo.co.uk or expedia.co.uk as these both had similar price flights. I think cheapflights.co.uk were also around about the same prices too.
There are cheap flights out there but try to avoid the weekends especially towards the end of october as you are approaching half term. I've booked 22nd Oct to 5th Nov as we wanted to go out over halloween this year.
its for half term that we are planning to go. I check out thomsonfly0 -

their last flight back of the year is on the saturday after half term i think, though it may be the 25th so you may not get to use thomson, which might leave you a little stuck in terms of cheaper flights unfortunately.0 -

hurricane season is June to Novemeber I think though I have been for the last 2 years in October and then September and going Oct-Nov this year and I have been lucky with regards to hurricanes. There were some tornadoes last year in northern florida but not as far south as orlando. You do get almost dailr thunderstorms at that time of year though.
I've never been over the summer, but my cousin who lives in Orlando tells me that June and July are usually the hottest months, theres not really a "bad" time to go to florida as the climate is almost always better than the UK!!
May might be your best bet though, but remember to try and avoid the american holidays too as prices rise and the parks get VERY VERY busy in the american school holidays.0 -

just checked on expedia and continental are doing flights for £442 per adult from 25th Oct to 1st Nov. Be quick though as the next carrier up (AA) is from £558.
Kayak also shows a similar price at £432 direct with Continental or via ebookers.com. Next best here is £549 with AA.
I'm not sure if you will get much cheaper flying out on weekends and going for half term.0 -
:money:I saw our beloved Martin on GMTV this morning talking about using mobiles whilst abroad. I did take a look at a couple of companies who specialise in American SIM cards (both making the same claims to be the only company in the UK to give you your number & SIM before you travel). The call prices within the US were 18p & 19 per min. I then did a bit of searching and bought myself 2 SIMS each with $10 credit and a choice of number before you travel for £17.48 delivered from an Ebay trader with great feedback.0

Can anyone recommend a car hire company. We have booked transfers to the hotel (don't fancy driving straight off flight!) we need a 7 seater and are staying in Lake Buena Vista. Have searched and it just seems a minefield of companies, so would be grateful for any help.
Thanks0 -
always found alamo good.
Just make sure that any quotes you get from ANY company includes all insurances etc.
i turned up last year with an application with budget for about $400 and was told it excludes some insurance and it would cost me $800!!
Luckily my cousin lives there and drove me to his house, we got a quote from Alamo online, ensured it included all insurances and picked it up at a total of $400!! So it looks like they try and make a fast buck off you so just be aware of this.0 -
modgit,
If you use Alamo/National, there's a depot at the Buena Vista Palace hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd. This may be in walking distance from your hotel, if not its in walking distance from Downtown Disney if there's a shuttle service from where you are staying. There's also one at the Swan (you can catch the boat from Epcot). Please note that these are not open as long hours as the depots at the airport.
We always use Alamo/National, but its worth checking out their discount codes online as we always get a significantly cheaper rate. Can't give you ours as they are industry ones and they do check your ID, but worth looking on line for others. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
