    Hi all

I have just booked a package holiday to Florida for May 2009. We are staying in a villa and car hire is included, however I am unsure about the car insurance. Included in the price of car hire is third party insurance but I am wondering whether to upgrade to either gold or premium? The prices though for upgrading are huge, upto 22 pounds a day, and as I am going for 14 days it is a lot of money. I read somewhere that it may be cheaper to book another car to hire and not to pick up the included car, could this be correct?? It seems a bit silly to me.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

I think you will find you have little choice about upgrading your insurance. There is a lot that car rental companies insist on now.
You do not say if the car comes with the flight/holiday. This is quite often how these companies make up there profit. Work out if the extras that your holiday company want against hiring a separate car through some one like USrentacar. May work out considerably cheaper.

I would not advise people to go to Orlando at any point in late June when there is the onset of the tornados and tropical winds weather, unfortuantly I went a few years back and it rained both two weeks, warm rain though:rotfl:

    hey guys n Girls,

I am considering going back to Florida in first week of september for 2 weeks, for 2 adults. We were there last year in June and it cost about 635 each with virgin staying in Pop Century.

Do you think if we hold off Virgin will have similar deals for September as they do usually for June (see they had it this year but do to work I couldn't go).

We are looking to get it as cheap as possible we not fussy whether it is in Disney or if we stay outside but I have no clue on nice hotels to stay at as don't want to end up some place where i will regret being for 2 weeks...I enjoyed my time at Pop clean tidy and staff were great.

Any idea recommendations would be good. I'm also considering getting a car to go about since we used Virgin travel vouchers last time and we ended up missing the bus to bushe gardens..grrr Muir or what ever bus people are called made a habit of being late and didn't even bother turn up to take us to the airport on day of departure we and 4 other couples had to be rescued by Disney buses lol

Well I think the best place to checkout for hotel info is trip advisor.

I always find it's cheaper to book a fly drive with V H, don't pay for the insurance or pick the car up, you'll almost certainly get a cheaper car hire - check out the dibb website.
You can book your hotel separately, Disney do have sales, it depends when you plan to go - I used Alpha rooms for my hotel bookings and always find they are the cheapest around for Orlando. We stayed at Embassy suites Jamaican court on I drive and loved it, there are some great hotels around Downtown Disney too, it depends what you want.
