Lightning, have you tried Broadway Travel? By far the cheapest for me.

Going for 2 weeks next Thursday and staying in Travelodge on I-Drive. Cost me £432 per person. No car hire needed as the hotel has free shuttles etc.

So looking to book up a villa in florida, got a good deal on it for end of july 30th until 13th August. The thing is flights are currently stupid money for then, was thinking about booking the villa and then holding fire for late deal on flights.... is this a stupid idea also is Disneyworld stupid queue times when i am thinking of going ?

    TIA

the best flight prices are the earliest to can book them, not the latest. you probably won't get a 'late deal'. you should also consider the new price hike in fuel surcharges just announced.

sorry I can't help on the Disney question.

    It's a stupid idea, unfortunately.

Late deals on flights operate on the basis that you are desperate to travel and will therefore pay top price.

The only exception is - sometimes - charter flights that have fixed fares. At the time you are going - even if this applies on Florida routes - there's a high risk they will be full.

One possibility that may be worth looking into is to fly somewhere else than Florida and drive (or get a connecting flight). But even if the fares are cheaper (and I don't know that they will be) it will add a day or so on each end of your holiday with an extra hotel, etc, so probably won't be worth it.

Booking a villa and then relying on a deal to meet those exact dates is rather silly.

yeah not booked it, was going to book flights now and then villa but its a friends villa so no issue with dropping out ......only thought about late deals as i saw so many late deals flying out next week for like £450 for my whole family i wondered if the same would happen in July

My main concern is flight costs and is Disney too busy I.e very long queues end of July, would it be better going later in the year say early september?

The baseline for next week (mid-season) is a whole lot lower than the baseline for July (high season), as well as availability issues.

You COULD hit lucky - maybe one in a large number - but the odds are heavily stacked against it.

Sorry no idea on Disney. Americans tend not to visit Florida in the summer - it's a winter resort to them. So it may not be as bad as you might think (says he, making a wild deduction from virtually zero knowledge)
  • Just seen this on www.bookme2.co.uk

£181 each Based on 4 people departing Gatwick on 5th June for 7 nights

and £219 for 14 nights staying at the Quality Inn Maingate West (I think thats on the 192 in Kissimmee)

But hey - what a bargain!

July is very hot, very humid with large groups of student groups rampaging through the theme parks. In my opinion it is the very worst month to visit Florida. If you have a choice go any other time!!!
