Disneytickets are expensive then you do get a lot for the money. But-Take the lad to downtown Disney go to the Disney shop there and the Lego MacDonald's, go to Boardwalk and take a couple of boat trips around the place. Go to the Contemporary resort jump on the monorail and go to the Grand Floridian and watch the fireworks from Narcoosie's. Ask at the queue for the Monorail to be sat in the front with the driver and the driver will give you a little certificate to state you are Monorail drivers.
All these are free and it will let him see more of Disney. Remember all Disney transport is free too!
Flexi ticket covers you for Universal and Seaworld, [heartly dislike Wet & wild, but then I am 63 not 9]. Disney waterparks are far superior to Wet and Wild and Aquatica is quite good too!! If this is the first visit I urge you to Do as much of Disney that you can. or as much as you can afford.
And remember Florida holidays can be hard work!!
I think the visit to DTD is a great idea.
Personally, if it was me and money was tight I would ditch the Flexticket idea and just go for a Disney Ultimate Pass (approx £159). This will give you access to all four parks and the two waterparks at Disney. That would keep you busy for your whole holiday
I think it could be extremely cruel to take the 9 year old so close to the Magic Kingdom & Epcot, where they will be able to see the iconic castle and golf ball, yet not be able to go insideEspecially if, as rosie says, she has already promised Disney.
I've been lucky enough to go to Orlando quite a few times with my children at varying ages, and when they were around 9, the Disney parks were far and away their favourites.0 -

Have you tried ebay.com (not ebay.co.uk)? I found them very useful for our last trip to Orlando0 -

Hi guys and girls, has anyone got an idea what the best time to book flights to Florida in September. The 2 of us are looking to go out around 15th Sept for 2 weeks and I'm sure it's best to wait for the post summer sales but Virgin are currently showing a 'special offer' of £437 into Miami, I could drive up to Orlando at a push but would prefer Orlando area any ideas?...Thanks in advance......CCG:beer:0

hi
all have been searching for orlando holidays for aug 2009 (i know but i like to be prepared) for 2 adults and 2 kids age 16/6 we do not drive so will be relying on public transport, buses, cabs or even shuttle buses we are pretty flexible as to where we want to stay (obviously not to far from parks etc basically its all down to money and costs in transport thrown in. any help would really be appreciated thanks.0 -
Hi Lightning, have a look at hotels on International drive. it's the best place for anyone who doesn't drive as it's well serviced by public transport ie the I bus, disney bus, taxis etc. Theres also loads of restaurants along the whole stretch.:beer:0
