    Sad I know but I want to visit a gun range when in Orlando and noticed a post before said you could buy ammo at the supermarket - is this correct? Do you need ID? Also does range ammo not contain a reduced charge for use indoors?

    We went to a range in Washinton DC and it was great Glock 45 and assault rifle. Ammo was pricy so it would be great if you could get from the supemarket. It is a raw atsmosphere inside with most of the staff walking arround with holstered guns and in the car park was a truck with the registration GUN GIRL.

    Kisk,

    I was the one who said that buying ammo from the supermarket would save you some money.

    Hi,

    We found information on this subject on the Dibb. We all think it'd be an experience to try it and found a couple of sites/places that allow you to fire a gun/guns. A word of warning though, it seems that these places are generally 'raw' - i.e. you'll find its not at all touristy which can be off putting for some.

    One Dibber had a great time at this place;

    http://www.eastorangess.com/

    Although this seems to be popular too;

    http://www.orlandogunshop.com/index.htm

    A tip to save some money is that you can hire your gun at the range but buy your ammo from a supermarket (forget the name, sorry) as the prices charged at the range for ammo is much higher. Obviously you'd need to have an idea of what guns/ammo you're going to be using.

    However, when we actually went to East Orange Shooting and Sports we did it unprepared and so we bought our ammo from the gun shop.

    Approx prices were;
    .45 (box of 100) $14.99
    9mm pistol ammo (box of 50) $18.99
    9mm assault rifle (I think) (box of 50) $18.99

    It does appear that WalMart sell ammo, but their website is down. It also appears that they are cutting back on this aspect of their business.

    P.S. Before we went shooting I felt it was a 'bit sad' and felt embarrassed even in the gun store, but for our teenage boys it was one of the highlights of the holiday.

    You can spend your time alone re digesting past regrets,
    Or you can come to terms and realize you're the only one who can forgive yourself.
    Makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

    Thanks for this. I will give them a call in the morning. Did you have a direct flight or did you have a stop? We would really prefer a direct flight. We have a disabled passenger flying with us so we don't really want the hassle of a stop. Thank you again - i really appreciate your help and advice. xxx
    We booked the scheduled flight from Gatwick to Orlando International (MCO). If you check on the Gatwick Airport website you will see a flight leaving from the South Terminal to Orlando (Flight No. VS015).

    When we found the price with Dialaflight they kept the seats at the price they quoted for 30 minutes. I suggested to the other half that if they can do it at that price then maybe a phone call to Virgin would reap further discounts, but amazingly they said they couldn't match Dialaflights price!!

    The price we paid, booking at January for the end of April was around £340.

    I really wish you luck today and please let me know if you do get flights at that price for next Easter because I really would prefer to fly from Manchester, but when we looked (for 08) the prices were much more expensive.[/quote]

    Well i booked our flights this morning with dial a flight. I got through to a really helpful man called James. (02074593935 - is the landline number - cheaper than calling the 0870 number quoted on their website!)

    I managed to get £200 off per person. Flying direct to Tampa from Gatwick with British Airways. The cheapest i could get with BA was £1140 each - i paid £940 each with dial a flight and that included car hire for the 2 weeks as well.

    I'm gob smacked that we managed to save so much money. There's 4 of us going so the saving will pay for our accommodation for the first week.

    Thank you to everyone that helped me out with this. I really appreicate the help and advice. xxx

    please, please can someone help me. I have been trying to get to Orlando for years and I just never get round to it...
    I have never ever booked a holiday, and know nothing about it either. What is a fair price range for Orlando during July 24-Aug 13th (these are rough dates, I'm relatively flexible.) I don't need to worry about hotels, I have a place to stay when I get there.
    I have been looking and looking, and find myself doing the same thing every summer but I just can't get my head around it all. I will be 17 years old when I wish to depart and am going alone. Can anybody help me somehow because it's all getting to me...
    thanks very much.:o

    I am going to florida next year and want to go shooting.
    I have looked at the gun ranges and it is worth checking with the range if you can use ammo bought from somewhere else.

    I know in a couple of ranges I have looked at they say if you are renting their guns you have to use their ammo.

    GIMME A BREAK ! ! !

    I explained WHY ! ! ! Do you grudge these kids a trip to Florida ??

    Disneyland Disneyworld YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN ! ! !

    You need to get a life . You must have such a bad one if you have to pick on such trivial things especially as its for underprivellaged kids .
