    You used the word 'refute' when you meant 'dispute' - that's all I was picking up (it's a particular bugbear of mine). If I 'dispute' a claim, I say it to be poor, but there is no implication either way as to how good my challenge is. If I 'refute' it, in contrast, there is the implication that my challenge has been a good one.
    Though your post saddens me even more! The likes of GG have to contend with people who think that they aren't intelligent because their English is poor, and then people like me (good education and a fair grasp of English) have to contend with people like you who feel that they have a "monopoly" over the English language.

    Look it up - British English dictionary to be sure ;-) - if you don't believe me...
