Outfox The Market Direct Debit changes

OFTM have finally gone too far! I am £105 in credit after 5 months with them and they want to increase my DD by 49%. Well it isn’t going to happen - i’m off. Just done a 12-month fixed deal with Octopus which will save me £35 per month. The way OFTM is behaving suggests to me they have a cash flow problem and they won’t be around much longer.
Welcome to the forum. Are you sure about the savings: £420 a year is a lot of money and prices have been rising by a lot in recent months. Bear in mind that DD payments are meaningless. Think of them as money which goes into PiggyBank from which your bills for usage at the agreed tariff rate are deducted. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Just got them to look in to it, close on £100 credit after this fiasco started some weeks back going from zero credit.
Received notification of yet another Direct Debit change yesterday an increase of £10.
That then when taken will put me approx £130 odd in credit end of this month after paying for actual usage.
For what theyre charging monthly i havent used that much gas in 6 months. Current gas Whack 3.018p should get bill for about £2 plus associated costs and elec.0 -
As others. £87 to £120 now £140. Nobody is able to do anything about it after some reasearch head of operations is Brad Goodfellows and with a bit of logic in the end conversed with him. My account has allways been in credit my last month bill was £95
He/They are not prepared to change this, discussed it at length but in the end, No. Will be leaving when my year is up, if they are still trading by then...
I am sure if this gentleman found himself being contacted by his customers all day then there might be some consideration given to there customers concerns !!!0 -

Small company with a cash flow problem.
My interpretation of OFTM is they are seeing how far they can push customers.Someone please tell me what money is0 -

Ive made numerous attempts to discuss the situation with my account. Im on fixed till may 2019.
All proving fruitless.
Made 2 initial email complaints 21 days ago, neither of which have been formally responded to.
Today ive sent a formal complaint to kapow and foxglove, outlining all my concerns and reminding them they have a further 30 days to respond or provide deadlock.
Im not even bothering anymore with trying to contact them via phone or live chat as the people they have speaking to us are either inept or have their hands tied.
All angles point to the 'Accounts team' when needing help but no one from accounts team help.
No one will provide break downs of how they have fabricated their figures.
Ive got 3 months of credit with them (OR about 2 months credit if any of the random figures provided will be used as DD amount).
Ive provided a complaint, they have a time scale to deal with this complaint. Unfortunately for them it falls right over the christmas and new year period. Nothing than a formal and valid human response will suffice. Ive reminded them as per the template letter, that this requires a resolution or deadlock by week 8.
Yesterday was statement day for me, then today would of been day they take DD from bank.
No statement has been provided although ive been inputting my daily readings for the last 2 weeks!!
No funds have been taken from my 3months worth of credit built up!!0 -
"For anyone who is interested, a Facebook group called Outfox The Market Discussion has been set up by disgruntled customers, and there are some very interesting posts on there, like this one:
***News Flash***
We have reliable information that OFTM are being INVESTIGATED BY OFGEM.
To all aggrieved customers.......you can add weight to the case, by raising GENUINE ofgem complaints - quoting the difficulty you are having making contact with OFTM - & quoting that they keep reinstating your direct debits.
( This are the two most serious, punishable offences )
If too many genuine complaints go into OFGEM - they WILL revoke OFTM’s license."
You might want to take a look!0 -

LOL
A reliable source? Facebook ?:rotfl:
The 2 matters alleged to be offences are not offences.
(unless you care to quote the appropriate statute you are hoping to rely upon)
Ofgem are not interested in complaints from consumers.
You need to follow the supplier's complaint procedure. If appropraite, you can then go the the Energy Ombudsman
The Energy Ombudsman reports to Ofgem a summary of complaints0 -
As I said next Friday I am cancelling the DD. OFTM will be getting the same reading as I give the new supplier as my opening reading. If I feel it is neccesary I will get the camera and take a photo of each reading, including the gas and send it to the same person who asked for photo's of my meter reads and let them sort it out.Someone please tell me what money is0
