Go and read this, it might help you understand how the brexiteers have continually failed to take any responsibility for the chaos they have created.
And today, they are still doing it. They are nowhere near the 48 letters to the 1922 committee to initiate a no confidence vote - to paraphrase Sir Robin’s minstrels: “when opportunity reared its ugly head, they bravely turned their tails and fled”. And, just like you, they will try and blame anybody but themselves.
Well done though for finding an opinion piece to support your bias, even though it did take a while. And even though we all know that if you look hard enough there will be something out there to suit whatever stance you want to take.
You're just persisting in continuing the nonsense.0 -
Ok. So where's the evidence of any Leaver stepping up to the plate?
This could have been career making for any of them, but they all ran away the morning after. Mogg keeps making noises from the sidelines but hasn't given any suggestions or offered to help out (he seems to want to be PM but is waiting for Brexit to happen first).
Remainers haven't been trying to sabotage anything. We're just trying to make sure it's done properly and legally.0 -

Its not really surprising. Their career depends on being able to continue the myth of the EU being to blame for everything that is wrong with the UK.
Its very easy to rant and rave against the EU and promise all these things, why would they want to actually try and deliver it for real knowing that the process will be painful even if it turns out to be eventually beneficial?
Its seems to be all about personal gain for so many of these charlatans unfortunately. Either that or like Rees Mogg they are sincere, but just hopelessly out of touch with reality.0 -
Always someone else's fault isn't it.
If this Brexit lark is so easy maybe some of the leading Brexiteers should give it a go rather than sitting sniping from the sidelines and blaming everyone else for the inevitable ensuing mess.
It is (was)ridiculously easy.
Invoke article 50.
Leave the EU.
Something happened immediately after the referendum though which made it more complicated. For some reason people got the idea in their head that there referendum didnt say "should the Uk remain a member of the EU or leave the EU" and instead said "Do you want to make a deal with the EU because the deal weve managed to negotiate so far suck donkey"
Its just not hard or complicated. Ukraine isnt in the EU, planes fly into EU countries every day. They sell and buy stuff every day. Belarus the same. Macedonia the same. Iceladnd and norway the same. The US isnt in the EU, they trade daily, planes fly, money shifts hands, jobs are created and lost, the cooperate on things they want to cooperate on and dont cooperate on thigns they dont want to cooperate on.
Russia... Russia is not in the EU. They make trade with the EU, they buy and sell, money changes hands, they fly to EU cities. They share a space craft on their ISS trips. We hate them with apassion, keep killing our whistleblowers, hate gays, want to assimilate the Balkan states yet theres never ever an issue or problem when we need to buy their gas. It happens doesnt it.
It got hard when people decided that dealing with the EU how every other country in the world deals with the EU isnt a workable option.0 -

But we're not like every other country in the world, we're an EU member, with an economy integrated within EU structures. You can't change that reality! Whatever the vision for the future, a deal is needed to sort things out as we transition from being a member to not being a member.0 -

No it got hard when we decided we didn't want to deal with the EU like every other country in the world because we're special. We wanted all the perks of being in the EU, but without contributing, breaking the 4 freedoms and not having to follow any rules.
It gets more complicated because our economy is based around being in the EU - we've got industries that are only here because of the EU and industries serving the EU - both of which we'd lose if we went the WTO route.0 -
There is no democratic mandate for a hard brexit in this country and the politicians pushing it are loons.0

By we, you mean remainers right?
For what its worth i knew full well leaving teh EU meant sacrificng the 4 freedoms, the EU where incredibly clear about this from the off, and thats ignoring the facts that we where party to implementing and upholding these rules so shouldve been well aware of them. Its almost like we didnt actually bother turning up when the EU met. It was always pointless chasing a 'deal' because its simple a case of theres nothing to negotiate, the rules are already made (as in to do things with the EU you need to be in a situation where they want what you have and are willing to pay for it). So they want to fly to the UK, yeh thats fine, let us fly to belgium. You wnat to hoiliday in the UK, fine lets brits holiday in europe easily. You want to come and live in the UK, thats fine, youve got to meet this criteria and allow brits the opportunity to live in Europe if they meet your criteria. See how not hard that is?0 -
Were not special, you a remainer thinking we are?
In the sense that we are existing members, we are different to countries which have never been members, that's all I'm saying.
I'm struggling to see how anyone can dispute this and believe that we can just become a third country like Russia or the US overnight.
Even for a hard Brexit you still need an exit deal.0
