The biggest problem is that the last 2 years and a bit years has only seemingly left both sides more entrenched and less willing to compromise, some of the Government's past rhetoric hasn't helped that, but there is no going back on it now.

If you voted to leave, would you trust a remainer to get a good deal to leave?
People just dont trust any politicians, all the leaver politicians are too yellow to even attempt to run the country.

She is utterly spineless and has sold all leavers down the river. As a remainer she never intended to leave, she just talked tough to keep leavers happy while she planned this back door deal with the EU. Surely the leaked memo from the EU gloating that they ‘held all the cards’ shows how bad the deal is.

My anger has, and will always be aimed at the remoaners who have assisted the EU in undermining any kind of deal from the outset because they cannot stand the fact that they lost the vote. Do you think for a minute if the vote went the other way they would entertain talk of a 2nd vote or the constant attempts to overturn a democratic decision?

Remoaners are no better than fifth columnists and should hang their head in shame, enjoy your deal with the EU, you can see how much they hold this country in contempt and yet you still bow down to them.

My fear now is that Labour will soon be elected and those spineless fools will not only wreck this country but will sign a deal that makes May’s look like a hard brexit.

Whether you like her or not. That's something you cannot accuse her of. Seems a formidable character.

Not really, she is just pig headed and tunnel visioned, in addition to being dumb.

Not sure where this idea that she is some hard headed Remainer comes from, she barely campaigned during the referendum from what I saw, I always thought she did just enough to show loyalty but certainly not so much that she greatly annoyed any Brexity Tories, it set her up nicely for a run at the leadership.

I'm really not sure what personal views she has on the matter, if indeed she has any strong views on it at all

Always someone else's fault isn't it.

If this Brexit lark is so easy maybe some of the leading Brexiteers should give it a go rather than sitting sniping from the sidelines and blaming everyone else for the inevitable ensuing mess.

The last referendum was a second vote. However, I would concede that the EU and our relationship with it has changed considerably since the first one.

There was never going to be a great deal from the EU, as otherwise other nations might be emboldened to leave. Those that promised otherwise are the liars.

The government and parliament should have started with a clear position (no deal or an off-the-shelf model) and negotiated up from there, rather than trying straight off for a bespoke deal. But with some senior politicians jostling for power while trying to dodge responsibility for previous dishonest claims, a cabinet dogged by confusion and infighting, and parliament as divided and opposed as the country at large, surely it can't come as a surprise that we've ended up where we are.

The country needs clarity so that it can move forward and businesses can plan and invest. Be that in, out, hard-boiled, soft-boiled, with or without a third referendum, something needs to be agreed and quickly.
  • One of the genuinely interesting parts of this Tory psychodrama is that no one knows what will happen next. May is the first Tory leader in history to be chosen by fitting the criteria of who doesn't want to be Prime Minister, least.

Andrea Leadsom didn't want to be Prime Minister, but Theresa's desire not to be blamed for this spectacle of calamity was slightly lower.

Perhaps there is someone waiting in the wings who is so disinterested in politics and lacking in personal ambition that they could actually be the next Tory leader.

The press are saying where is Gove, perhaps he has his eye on being Prime Minister?
