  • Oh and checked the claim number was correct in the subject line and it 100% was, I put the claim number followed by defence in the subject line and as the thread advised;
    'Urgent RE claim - *****(claim number) please find attached my defence.' in the body of the email.

    Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have just googled them and assume it stands for county court business centre and there is only one in Northampton? Number I have found for them is 0300 123 1056
    Yes that's the number.
    Isn't it on your County Court Claim Form?
  • I have called them and they have advised it is showing up today. I asked if it would be classed as late but he explained it isn’t like that and it blocks them from putting in any judgement against me. He advised they have 28 days so I might not hear of anything for a little while.

    Thank you for your help once again!

    You got away with it then

    Keep your eye on the claim history once a week now , don't get caught out again
  • Ok I will do that… when I am checking the claim history, am I looking for the defence to show up? Or am I looking for anything else to show up on there?

    Both

    You are checking the defence has been logged and the date

    Then you are checking for when they have posted the N180 to you

    Why are you not following the instructions in the Defence template thread discussion ??

    The numbered bullet points , where you are only halfway through

    You are looking first of all for "your defence submitted on DD/MM/YYYY" and then "your defence accepted on DD/MM/YYYY".  The next thing that is likely to happen is that you will receive a DQ (N180) form asking where you would like the claim to be heard, which means that the CCBC has sent your defence to the claimant and they have told CCBC that they will proceed.  You might/should see DQ form sent to defendant and/or DQ sent to claimant/received from claimant.  All of this is in the NEWBIE sticky and in the guide to court written by @bargepole.
  • I have been checking regularly but it only says;

    Claim History

    Your acknowledgment of service was received on 18/05/2021 at 08:06:03

    Your defence was received on 20/07/2021

    DQ sent to you on 05/08/2021

    It doesn't say defence has been accepted, does this matter if I have now received the DQ?

    I am following the thread now on what to do next with don't worry lol just wondered the above question and if it matters?

    Your Defence has been accepted.

    Everything looks to be in order.

    Press on.
  • Hi guys, I have had my notice of allocation to the small claims track through the post and I don't know if i'm understanding it wrong or if its the sleep deprivation (I had my baby a few weeks ago now) but I am STRUGGLING to understand what I have to do and I have read the threads over and over and over.

    The letter says to send all documents to the other party and the court office that I wish to rely on by 29th November, I read on a thread to push back about this if you are NHS staff etc? I am NHS but I am on maternity leave and the paperwork seems a lot of work to do! Do I really have to write war and peace and send to all parties? If I do, where do I start? I can't seem to find any template or ideas in the threads..

    There's also something that says about a fee of £27.00 to be paid. Does the claimant pay this fee and I only pay this fee if i lose the hearing?

    I am saying this in advance... I understand this may seem obvious to you guys who deal with these all the time but I am really struggling so would really appreciate support
