    Morning folks!

The day has dawned gorgeous here which is good as I have a garden mission on my mind.

Was very glad of Martin's hint about the Easyjet flights as I needed to book 8 of us to Faro in September. Flights for me and OH only £136.50 return each so not too bad. Horrifying moment of booking luggage, special seats etc for the others and seeing £1250 coming off my cc

    Anyhoo, today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Put first lot of sealant into rotten door step - done
    • Sweep up leaves and rake leaves off lawn - done
    • Prune fruit trees - done
    • Put pansies in hanging basket - done
    • Fountain into shed for winter - done
    • Scrub danger slope with a dab of bleachy water - done
    • Wash down window and bleach it - done!
    • Make loaf in new new breadmaker - made a cinammon loaf but missed beeps for raisins
    • Get money back from bil for flights - blimey, straight away!
    • Windows open to air house - done
    • Heating off - done
    • Knit sock - done
Will add more as I go.

    Have a good one all

  • Afternoon all! I really don't seem to be getting anywhere at all these days just going round and round in circles not actually getting anything done, scoring nothing off my to do list and instead adding more and more every day. I'm determined to have a productive day and get everything done! Here's today's list:
    • Check bank and update spreadsheet
    • Post on PAD thread
    • Post on Make £10 a day thread
    • L/D from cupboard (having salmon, potatoes & veg for dinner)
    • Put 10 things on Ebay
    • Package Ebay things that sold today
    • Post Office
    • Washing on horse
    • Finally get round to buying Mr D's birthday presents or he'll end up with nothing!
    • Look for Euros
    • Organise airport parking
    • Organise airport transfers for when we arrive
    • Ironing
    • Check out what Ebay things are still in the loft
    • Update Ebay spreadsheet
    • Buy card for brother who has moved in with his gf
    • Have a chat with Mr D about how much spending money we need
    • Have a chat with Mr D about our plans on holiday
    • Sort Mr D's birthday present from my mum
    • Christmas to do list
    • House viewing

That should do it for today. Have a nice day everyone

Quick poll folks... I have 2 pairs of every day jeans that I wear on rotation. I have worn them almost constantly for 2 years and they are getting generally quite scruffy. One pair has gone in the thigh area and the other isn't far off.

Now should I woman up and patch them or just submit and get some new ones?

I say patch. But then I've not bought (many) new clothes since Major was PM.

  • Afternoon Team Small Things!

    Hope everyone is well :)

Lots of talk of holidays from CLF and daydreams - trying hard not to be jealous! :p Weather looking horribly bleak here. Have decided on a day at home as DS still sounding horrible due to croup :( Instead choosing to keep warm in front of the fire with a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake - it’s a hard life! :A

    Today, we have done/will do...

    1. NSD :j. One advantage of not leaving the house :)

    2. Meals from stores. Used up some sad looking cucumber and spring onions with lunch; have made a batter for toad-in-the-hole for dinner, plus made my second lemon drizzle cake of the week. Wasn’t impressed with the recipe I used earlier in the week - used fewer eggs than I would have done (which is why I chose it as I didn’t have many) and the result was rather flat and crumbly. Used tried and tested recipe today - much better! :T

    3. Have frozen wedges of lemon not used in making cake. Should be useful for drinks over Xmas period with entertaining various people.

    4. Lots of free wood being used on the fire, plus free exercise in sawing it up!

    5. Need to find angel fancy dress that DD1 used for nativity 2 years ago. DD2 has been given the part of an angel this year and it should be just the right fit for her.

    6. Checked survey sites x 4. Managed to cash out another £10 today :j

    7. More mending to do when DH is at work tonight - pair of DD1’s socks, DD2’s skirt plus my favourite cardi.

    8. Meal plan done for next few days and shopping list ready for tomorrow.

Right-o - that’ll do! Off to get some more cake... :D
Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.

    Hi November Networkers,

    Afternoon!:coffee: Work day.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Get paid expenses. Done. Enjoyed the sensation of being "rich" for a few minutes before repaying DW the money I borrowed debt free to buy my folding bike while it was at a reduced price. Then gave DW the monthly food money and £100 for Decemberfest food. Sadly the "rich" sensation has now worn off. :rotfl:

    * Take a packed lunch to work. Done.

    * Continue to turn off Wifi Box when we go out. Done.

Things don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

    Afternoon Money Savers,
Today has been reasonably productive on the frugal front:
*Haven't spent anything as haven't been out, apart from a walk to the post box.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*No hairdryer use. A bit of energy saved there, each time it happens.
*Cut a tube of body lotion open - as usual, a lot left inside to use up.
*Made blackberry & apple jam for my sister.....a bit of a saga involving circumstances which resulted in me nicking her blackberries - the final part-jar has been added to our pantry for my toast & porridge.
*Unpacked all the bags of stuff I brought back yesterday when we were down south continuing the long job of sorting & clearing Mum's house. I shan't be running out of batteries, lightbulbs, matches, envelopes & heaps of other stuff for a very long time, but you know my views on waste.
*Paid another 2 x 50ps into my sealed pot. Not long till our opening day - Dec 1st.
    *Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Made chunky coleslaw to use up leftover red cabbage from making my Christmas braised red cabbage the other day.
*Divided up the dried squash seeds I saved & labelled the seed packets.
*Did the ironing - switched off for final garment.
*Wrote letter - already had a stamp & used a recycled envelope from my stash.
    *Did a couple of surveys.
*Entered a competition to win a Christmas hamper.
*Update my dfw diary - not done yet, but it's imminent.
*Onepoll have paid me my £40, so updated my signature......I think I should break £400 total survey income this year, & to be honest, I haven't been doing many at all since Mum first became ill, because hospital visiting, stress, then funeral arranging & everything else knocked surveys right off the priority list, so it just shows how much I could have earned had I been in a position to keep it up. I'll be pleased with £400 though.
    OK, I think that's me.
    Have a peaceful evening all.
