  • Quick poll folks... I have 2 pairs of every day jeans that I wear on rotation. I have worn them almost constantly for 2 years and they are getting generally quite scruffy. One pair has gone in the thigh area and the other isn't far off.

    Now should I woman up and patch them or just submit and get some new ones?

    I say patch! Do a youtube on patching jeans in thigh area. Simple 10 minute job. The jeans are fine hon it's your sparkling wit that shines through! :A

    I'm very confused - but I was afraid you'd say that haha. I have patched other jeans before but I hate sewing *whinges*

    Clf, I've got to say I'd buy new! ;)

    Not much of a list from me today as been up at the hospital with boyo for his 6 monthly blood test, it was an early afternoon appointment which we've never had before (always been 9-9.30) so timing wise it wasn't worth getting him back into school as he'd have been there for about 25mins!
    Small things that I have done..
    * switched off dss alarm clock at the socket
    * checked banking
    * tweeted a message to energy supplier as they respond to them much quicker then they do emails
    * all meals from stores
    * popped to aldee on the way back as dh was asking for perc coffee and at £1.99 a bag its much cheaper then the alternative he'd suggest of popping to costalot
    * gave my friend a bottle of wine for her birthday in a recycled gift bag (in fact I think this particular gift bag has been going between the 2 of us for the last 7 or 8 yrs! ;) )
    * heating off until needed (boys still wandering round in t shirts at the minute so definitley not going on just yet!)

    Thats about it, nice to "see" you back on the thread HK :)
    Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    They would likely be deemed biological waste in the post :rotfl:

    I hate sewing too, but I patched mine (eventually) :A as I find it so hard to find ones that fit well. I did it by hand, as my sewing machine is one of those pretty black and gold antique ones, and can only really sew in straight lines, and then only if it is in the right mood :rotfl:. It is so pretty though :heartsmil
  • Morning all :hello:

    Productive day yesterday, got a few Christmas gifts all from outlet, discount stores and DH bought me a lovely, it'll last forever, cast iron cooking pot as my Christmas gift :A:happyhear I was very sensible and researched best prices and got it from an outlet store. Definitely a once in a blue moon purchase. Parking was also free where we went. We also went to an independent gift store which was lovely.

    Am working from home, list today:

    Try not to stare at lovely shiny new gift too much :o:rotfl:
    Check regular saver is up and running that I set up yesterday
    Check banking
    Meals from stores
    Make some afterschool snack biscuits
    Get 4 tyres replaced :eek: luckily work pay :A
    See if I have time to pop to mr s and use some double up vouchers
    Something from freezer for lunch tomorrow
    Did one load overnight on cheap and managed to squeeze another on cheap when I got up, will peg out

    Hope everyone is ok. Have a good day. Purps.

  • Hi guys :D Today is my last day off then am working 6 out of the following 7 days :(

    I've got the appt at the hospital to have an mri so that's probably going to take the whole morning - bit of an overkill I think...

    Today though:

    * drop pup at co-sharer's while walking madam to school
    * have put pinto beans in the pc to make winter squash spicy stew mmmmm
    * am also going to make black bean and chilli soup mmmmm
    * take book & knitting with me to hospital for the wait
    * tidy up
    * stop at sm on way home and pick up milk and bread - this last week I haven't done very well with the GC budget :(
    * onepoll
    * take in dress for madam - shouldn't take me 30 mins. Bought on fleabay size 9-10 years and a simple downsize = lovely dress for madam

    Ok that's all I can think of right now!

    Hi All

    Caught the bus to work this morning, bus driver was late and really rude - not a good start to the day, it would actually have been quicker for me to walk and would have been better for my metal health.

    DNMS good luck with your next few days sounds exhausting

    I forgot my lunch today :( going to go to Boots late as they often have reduced sandwiches after 1.30

    Going to have a look in WHS Clearance for some xmas pressies while I'm out

    checked debt today and I'm £200 or so up on debt - I thought it would be more after this months mare with the budget but I can repay that and more when my outstanding invoices are paid - £190 was paid yesterday now outstanding £359 and I have a new order for the end of the month

    Got hubby to put washign out on the line

    Customers washed my buffet dishes for me yesterday - that saved on one dishwasher load

    Tea will be dhal, rice and indian snacks

    Have a good day all
