Good morning all,
DH was off out for the day by 8.30am, so I've had a peaceful morning so far. I've done the boring dailies, had a couple of cups of tea, and restrained myself from spending more than a few minutes in the garden / greenhouse. I'll be taking DD to the stables shortly, and I'm meeting a friend for a walk while I wait for DD. As the sun is just breaking through, it should be a lovely day for a walk.
Yesterday I managed to order a few small Christmas presents from independent sellers, as part of my ongoing quest to support the little (wo)man more. I've also managed to have what I thought would be an awkward conversation with a couple of friends to suggest that we stop present buying and go out together for lunch or afternoon tea etc instead. It takes so much effort to coordinate busy lives but they all thought it was a good idea and jumped at it. Just goes to show me, really. We have a date set as well, so progress.
I have an hour before I need to leave, so I guess I had better put my mind to something useful.
Have a lovely day, all.0 -

Aww thank you YL xx I'm plodding on. Went back to work on Thursday; knew it would be hard and wanted to get it over with! Thursday was tough and I used up every spoon in the drawer, but yesterday was much easier. I'm glad that first day back is behind me now.
Dad is putting me to shame - he's borrowed my shredder and has two and a half black bin bags of shredding done so far (guess I inherited my hoarding tendencies from Mum then). He has also bought himself a slow cooker and was planning on going shopping first thing this morning to buy ingredients for a stew.
Tomorrow would have been my stay-at-home-with-mum-while-dad-goes-karting-with-DS day. I'm going karting with them - even though there is a ton of stuff I could be doing at home I don't want a day home alone thinking of where I would have been. Last race meeting this year and DS is currently 3rd in his class championship, so I'll go and cheer him on.
DS is going to Barnsley today for a final audition to go on Bargain Hunt with his mate!!! They have made no secret of the fact that they know jack-!!!!!! about antiquey things - so I hope they get through....watch this space.
Flying? Hmmmmm oh yeah - I put a load of work shirts in WM this morning. In fact they're waiting for me to unload them now - so that's what I'll do.
Thank you for the hugs ionafan xx
Hope everyone is having a peaceful Saturday

Will I ever learn that starting is the hardest part?
I've: done the laundry shuffle; deposited dead flowers in recycling bin; replenished still-alive flowers with water; rinsed and recycled THIRTY  cola cansand a free tea caddy; fed the birds; and put the rubbish out.
I now have empty worktop space in the kitchen :T

Washing out and blowing.
De-grotting of dining room in progress including pile sorting. Recycling box emptied into bin and refilled again; this is the bin that goes this week.
Stuff I was going to list on local facebook has been sold because it occurred to me to offer them to a colleague so it only took a text; need to put in the bag to go with me to work on Monday.
Cut and blow dry booked for Thursday. 8:30 but it will still be a lie-in! My work pattern has been altered for this week and I'm off Thursday morning.

:beer:Afternoon all!
DD arrived back from university yesterday with an absolute mountain of washing - thank goodness for the sunshine we have today as I don't have a tumble dryer. Two loads down so far - I'm on my own this afternoon so I can hang, fold and iron in peace and maybe do a little light dusting. The house is already looking better after a week of flying - thank you, Valli!:j
A good trip to town this morning - bought two difficult Christmas presents with DD's help and student discount, found a lovely wool jumper in a CS for £4, and stocked up on YS meat ready for Christmas hols.:T
Hope you all have a good day and restful weekend.:beer:0 -
I am not in the best of moods, OH moved the timer on the cats automatic cat feeder, so cat pestering to be fed at silly oclock. Can down and dealt with cat, WM is now on, OH still in bed snooring...................
I hope the cat was suitably grateful, at least.Tomorrow would have been my stay-at-home-with-mum-while-dad-goes-karting-with-DS day.
