Today (or, rather, yesterday) among other things I
    - did the small Gift Aid claim for the charity :T
    - took umpteen photos of the play kitchen and other food-related toys that I've been given to sell, ready to list them on the Bay/Tree (that's a job I hate!)
    - visited a young friend and her toddler
    - had a row with DH about his car (in which I am driving him around for the time being) - it keeps showing warning lights but he won't arrange for it to go in to the dealership for a check  On his head be it if we get stuck in Wales the week after next!
    - sorted some other papers
    - bought the things I need to do the Toots jobs

Sat down after tea to drink my coffee and promptly fell asleep for 2 hours. Must get to bed now - still piles of papers to clear [STRIKE]tomorrow[/STRIKE] later today!

Thanks for the suggestion, kazwookie. DH is currently in one of his down moods - they run into one another with very little break between (though he never thinks to tell the GP and get his meds reviewed) - and resenting the fact that "all" decisions are taken out of his hands by me/the DVLA/the orthopaedic consultant/the railway/etc/etc. On this occasion, because we have the AA as a backup for the journey to Wales, I will bow to his superior knowledge - though I can't say I'm filled with joy. Also, it's his car, he pays all the bills for it, and I don't have any spare cash atm. I drive my own little car (which I pay for) but it's too low for him to get in and out of without causing him an awful lot of pain, which makes his mood even worse.

    Progress this morning:
    - papers spread over spare bed and c-o-d have been sorted; some flung, some filed, a few replaced temporarily whilst awaiting the attention which I hope to give them over the weekend
    - eye test booked
    - phonecall made to chase up boiler and gas fire check
    - 2 cups of tea drunk
    Breakfast and shower needed next!

ETA: Apologies for my omission, raphael - I meant to send you big (((hugs))) xx

    Good morning,

I had a sneaky cup of tea in bed and a lie in this morning, as I have to take DD to the horsepiddle shortly. She is less than impressed, and doesn't want to miss school, but there we are.

Yesterday I went round like a mad thing after work, and finally got the bathroom and shower cleaned. DH promptly holed himself up in there in the evening, so I don't know why I bother.

The wm is loaded for when we get back this afternoon, I think I just about have time to flick the duster around upstairs before we go.

Slinky weigh in this morning for the first time in a few weeks, and it showed. Obviously the reason that I haven't stepped on the scales of doom is because I knew they were heading in the wrong direction. Yep - 4lbs on  So my fantastic total weight loss since starting the slinky challenge in January is....4lbs. **bows in total awe to Pigpen**.

ETA - lots of ((hugs)), Iona.
  • Urghhhhhh today is a write off.

Friends came round for a gin &movie session last night.

As they left at 11.00 the Pickle woke up.

He stayed awake until hubby got in from work at 2:30am

Hubby managed to get Pickle back into bed.

Pickle gets me up at 8:15.

Hubby gets out of bed at 9am and promptly falls back to sleep on the sofa.

It's 11am hubby has made first coffee of the day. I'm going to get a shower and do some 'hovering' Rather than flying.

I think the only Flying has been the clearing up of sawdust and other mess after Mr Wolf finished putting up the new garden gate.

Some doozer in Whitehall or somewhere has decreed that to qualify for the "higher standards" evaluation for dog boarders, we have to EITHER have a double barrier between the garden and the Big Wide World, or have an Ofqual-approved level three qualification in dog care - but no-one seems to know what is Ofqual-approved, other than it will cost £££ to do. So we've opted to spend £65 and go for the extra gate.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

ionafan hope you have a good journey.
Lots of decluttering today, I'd been clearing out old assessment stuff and reference books in the hope of finding them a new home. Today I met an ex colleague from my last college for coffee and to see whether she'd like them. She was delighted as she now tutors all ages 1:1, so I now hav nearly 2 shelves in my room of doom office EMPTY. And have sorted out more resources for her.

    Went to see mil.
    Went to Asd@.
Made 2 Christmas puddings which are now steaming.
Cooked dinner with enough to freeze.
Mr N has also been busy having blood test, going to gym, buying paint, putting deposit down for Christmas meal with former workmates.
    One load through dw.
Bird feeders filled just in time for fairies to turn up.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Hi all

DS is home for the night with 2.5 loads of washing which I need to have washed and dried for the morning. Lovely to see him even if its only for a few hours.

Shopping tomorrow, a few birthdays here before Christmas. House is OKish - hard finding even a little time to fly at the moment.

    Hope you are OK roundtuit.

    Morning all.

Glad you like the sign off Fayolle, I saw it somewhere else and stole it!

So far today I have fed the dogs and checked banking.

I plan to sort washing and washing up next and then take inspiration from this thread this morning. The afternoon and evening will be taken up with family visiting.

    Have a great day everyone.
