Was really fed up today, work was really pee ing me off.Just booked a very cheap week in Tenerife for 11th March. £300 all inclusive, cheap enuf that if I don’t like the food I’ll eat out. Just need some heat and sun. Using a voucher for a facial tomorrow I got in a Black Friday deal for a tenner. Plenty of champagne after a rubbish week!
I'm well jel :rotfl:
Am deffo on lemonade, until I find out if the insurance are going to pay out for Zeus:o Was just stroking his tum , n noticed that the nurse has removed his scrotum stitches , but not his tummy ones! I just got in from reflexology and my ear candling.
I don't know if it is because I haven't had it done in years or to do with my muscles being tense from when I had fibromyalgia but some of the reflexology really hurt. I was wincing when he was rubbing around my ankles.
Hopefully next time will be better and I will be less tense.:D
I got a black cab home as a treat.:) I'm just making some oven baked chips for dinner.0 -
Hi, Wort, I've dyed faded cotton towels in the washing maching successfully in the past. If your duvet is 100% cotton, then you should be able to dye it.
Not sure about the effect of the dye on the check, though. My gut feeling is that the check will still show through, unless you bleach the cover to an even colour before hand. Also, if it has a nylon zip for closing, then that may be a different shade of what ever colour you use, if it takes.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

My champagne moments today were going to watch Second Act with my sister H at Streatham Odeon followed by lunch at Pizza Express. I was quite disappointed with this film as there are parts of the storyline which were very implausible. I did laugh out loud at times, but it was not as funny a comedy drama as I was expecting. I would give this film 6.5/10
I used my Limitless Odeon card for my own ticket and paid for my sister's ticket which cost me £12.50. I had 6 X £20 Pizza Express Gift Cards that I bought from Tesco last year at 15% off to pay for our lunch but I only had to use just over £47 for our 2 course lunch and drinks. I still have over £60 of gift cards to spend in Pizza Express.
I sold another item on eBay.
In the evening I went to the Open Mic Poetry Evening that I regularly attend.. I read 2 of my own poems and sang Amazing Grace. I got 3 giant cheese straws and a giant cookie to take home.0 -
Wort......you are right about solo supplements. They can make a holiday very expensive. I am still very undecided about going away this June.
They have said I can postpone it till next year, using my deposit for another holiday. Just pay a small admin fee. I think I might do that instead.
It would give me longer to save up and I really want to crack on with the house renovations this summer. My last holiday was an "extra" really, whilst they did the bathroom, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered going away.
The good news of course is that because my car sailed through its MOT I don't have to worry for a while. The next big car expenses (all being well) will be in October, tax, insurance and service so again a breathing space.
I have been using my mini gym, mainly the elliptical trainer and also doing Pilates and my physio exercises for my frozen shoulder. All is going well. Gradually increasing how much I do each day. I know some people get their champagne moments from going to the gym, but I truly hate commercial gyms. I enjoy exercise just not public gyms.
I am very fortunate I know to have a spare bedroom dedicated as a private gym but my equipment didn't cost much and it saves me shedloads of time. It would take me at least half an hour each way to get to the gym.
Anyway I'm on track with January's budget. I have spent more on food that I anticipated but I have been building up some Armageddon supplies (Brexit, Beast from the East, whatever). Just need to buy a few extra cleaning supplies and then I'm done.
I stuck to my "no clothes buying". Just a black evening bag from a chazzer for £2, no books, no magazines. Joined the library instead :rotfl:
Will do a money review next week but it seems to be looking pretty good so far.
Have a good week. Hope you all have lots of champagne moments whilst streeeeetching those lemonade budgets.0 -
LL i'm with you re hating gyms.I have a mini stepper , n use that, n have been doing a lot of leg stretching exercises, which seem to help with my OA n nerve pain/ damage:D

He's a little nutter :rotfl: I'm doubting the ins are gonna pay out, cos they're saying it's castration related, but despite all his bloods coming back ok, the vet's insisting he has a clotting issue:( I think they cocked up during the op, so have paid for the castration, n they can fight it out with the insurance company"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Good evening everyone,
After a few humdrum days and some really dire weather I had a lovely evening yesterday. Glad rags on and dinner out for a family birthday celebration. Food was fab, wine flowed, the birthday "girl" loved her gifts and the chat was wide-ranging;):). I had expected it to be a spendy evening but my lovely Dad insisted on paying:D and my son drove us there so a £0 spend on the night:D.
Back to "old clothes and porridge" today :rotfl:0
