  • I just did 30 minutes on my mini trampoline. I looked on the calendar and it is has been about 3 months since I started that Gupta programme treatment for fibromyalgia/ chronic fatigue.

Very champagne moment for me as I haven't done hard exercise and felt that good afterwards for years.

    Good morning everyone.....

Just dropped car off for its MOT. Fingers crossed. ;).

Yes I think I will dye my towels. I was thinking mid to dark grey. I'll wait for better weather though so I can dry them outside. I'm in no hurry.

Hopefully more beam painting today....little and often...it's hard work, rough on the neck and shoulders so I'm just going to do a few each day, no more than 2 hours painting at a stretch.

Yes it's going to take a long time that way - employing a decorator would save me a lot of effort and time but painting is something I can do myself and going the diy route will keep costs down.
  • My champagne moment yesterday was going to watch Mary Queen of Scots using my Odeon Limitless card.

I was totally engrossed in the film as it unfolded. The 2 women leads Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie were superb. It was fascinating to me to see how both women had to continually fight to maintain their power even though they were both Queens. They were beset from all sides by powerful men wanting to wrest their power from them. They were both extremely wise and strong women. I was literally cheering the both of them on. The scenery is stunning and I loved the costumes for the female and male leads even though they may not have been strictly historically correct. For me this film was a 10/10 :D:j

Life is somewhat lacking in "champagne moments" just now, nothing dire has happened just horrible weather and a good few (planned & budgeted) for spends which will mean a bit of temporary "pot" shuffling;). Did buy (and love) a new dress in a sale for a "birthday dinner" this weekend. Saved a good bit as nearly bought it at full price before Christmas.:D
Grateful to have a cosy home and enough in my "pots" not to be worried about being warm and comfortable.
    Roll on the gardening season:)

I had a lovely weekend in York with a friend, and did a lot of shopping :), all charity shops and discounts. We always go for the traditional English food for lunch/dinner/tea, so lemon merengue pies, toasted tea loaf, beef stew. Very enjoyable!

I do hardly any shopping normally, but I love to shop in cities like York. I now have a new blue leather handbag from the National Trust shop, discounted from 50 to 35 pounds, a charity shop Laura Ashley cocktail dress for 15 pounds, and some fresh fudge for 3.50 pounds. The discounted Tesco scones and hot cross buns are in my freezer, and I have a gardening magazine to enjoy, especially because it came with several packs of seeds (it doesn't come with seeds if you buy it in Europe, even my Gardeners World magazine subscription came without seeds. It was my husband's birthday gift for me several years ago, for a year.)

  • My champagne moments yesterday were selling 2 items on eBay and going to watch The Upside at Streatham Odeon using my Odeon Limitless card. :D

The film exceeded my expectations. I laughed non stop throughout the film till my cheeks and stomach muscles ached and my throat started to get sore. Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston were both excellent. Bryan did a very convincing role as Phillip a quadriplegic who is also a billionaire. The film is about the relationship between Phillip and Dell his carer who is played by Kevin Hart. The film is very funny but it also has a lot of pathos and is very thought provoking. I would give this film 10/10 :D

No snow here, but grey, cold and absolutely miserable, so it's probably on its way. I did do a stock up the other day. I bought some extra milk and popped it in the freezer. Like you Candygirl, I wont risk falling on the ice. Glad Zeus is healing.

Siebre.....shopping in York, lovely. Glad you had a good time. Some great bargains.

Caronc.....I,know what you mean about not many champagne moments. They call January "the cruellest month" but at least modern life is more comfortable than it would have been for our ancestors.

We have our modern creature comforts, heating, lighting, hot water, enough food. There are so many homeless people now, it must be absolutely dire in this weather.

And you are so right there are a lot of people who do worry about putting the heating on and food on the table. I consider myself very fortunate. I may not be rich but I have "enough".

My champagne moment yesterday was picking up the car after it had sailed though it's MOT. I got the guys to give her a mini valet and they also fitted the new wheels trims for me. It was with a sense of joy and relief I drove away in my clean shiny car knowing she'd been given a clean bill of health. :rotfl:

Today I had both acupuncture and a massage. Ouch!!! Not the best idea to have two treatments in one day. I do feel a bit worse for wear now so will just take it easy, a simple dinner, curl up with a book and the tv, a roaring fire and lots of candles and then an early night.
  • My champagne moment was getting home from my walk. It is bitterly cold and it was drizzling and I didn't have my umbrella. Lovely to come home to a warm house and my slippers.:D

  • No snow here on the south coast yet, but it is cold and sunny.
Got a Pilates class this morning, it is in walking distance at the local what they used to call "leisure centre". There is a gym and swimming pool, but I am not doing either today (very rarely go to the gym) because I have to be firm with myself and do some more decorating. I am painting the hallway white, it has been acid green since I moved in 18 months ago. I'm doing the skirting and architrave too and each bit will need 2 or 3 coats. I'm slow but I want to finish before I go on holiday in February so have got to do a couple of hours every day. At least that is the intention. I came home from work at 3pm yesterday, had a cup of tea, the cat jumped on my lap and we both fell asleep. Hey ho!
