Just finished the cleaning..... actually my shoulder is killing me. Luckily I've booked a massage for Tuesday, in the meantime I have a gizmo I can use, it helps a bit although obviously not as good as a real professional massage.

I shall put my feet up with a cuppa and read and rest for a while. Just before Christmas I splurged and bought myself one of those heated sofa throws......absolute bliss. ACtually it's quite MSE because I don't need to have the heating blasting out.....Curled up under the throw I'm as snug as a bug in a rug.

I think it must be the "decluttering" season as I tackled a bathroom cupboard today! I didn't get rid of lots but it is certainly cleaner and better organised. Not a "champagne moment" but still pretty satisfying.
"Champagne moment" for today was a dress I ordered arriving and I love it. I nearly bought it before Christmas but glad I waited as it was much reduced in the January sale.:)

    Iceland is worth the visit.

Stay away from the Blue Lagoon. Expensive, crowded. Native Icelanders don't go there. One we were chatting to, told us they avoid it because it's for tourists.

If you book a Golden Circle excursion, look for one that goes to the Secret Lagoon at the end. Lovely, not crowded, not a spa. Sort of place Icelander's stop on their way home, lol.

Food is expensive, so think about a travel kettle and your own snacks for your room. Make sure you get a hotel package that includes breakfast. Breakfast that I don't cook is always a champagne moment for me.

I've been twice, once hi end, once budget. Trust me, you're only in your room to sleep. And a good breakfast sets you up for the day

    Good morning everyone,

Thanks for that wondercollie. Very helpful. I'll have to read up a bit and decide on the excursions, but nice to have some insider knowledge from someone who has been.

Yes I've heard food is very expensive. Luckily i will be eating mainly on the ship so it will probably just be the odd snack.

Caronc. Glad you like your dress.

No snow here yet but apparently it's on it's way in the next few days. I'm going to do a bit of food shopping today, don't need much.im all stocked up for Snowmaggedon.

I'm guessing champagne moments will be of the Hygge variety. :rotfl:

It's drizzly n miserable here today. I'm still on Zeus nursing duties. He's doing very well considering. The Senior vet rang me n apologised for the mix up re the bloods, n has said she'll ring me with the results, so there's no language barrier again:n
Am popping to Mum's soon for a coffee n a natter.Need some human company, after being stuck in doggy nursing all week. Can't wait to get Bonnie back from kennels, n get back to normal:)
So glad that you've decided on the holiday LL .Memories are more important than new kitchens ;)

  • My champagne moment was booking my reflexology appointment for next Friday. I have a course of 10 sessions for £250. I might get a taxi back home as well instead of getting a bus.:)

I'm going to use my foot spa every night up until then.

I bought a few things from the charity shop. A navy blue Autograph top, a dark red dress and a pink vest top. I also bought some white tops to dye emerald green.

    Hello again....

Good to hear Zeus is on the mend. Enjoy time with your mum. Mine died a couple of years ago. On a miserable afternoon I would take her a bunch of flowers, a cream cake and we would sit and drink tea, the photo albums would come out and we would sit and reminisce. I really miss those times.

Treasure your mums whilst you can.

Oh dear I'm a bit emotional today. Missing my husband too. Most of the time I'm ok but just occasionally I dip a bit. I think the miserable weather doesn't help.

In the past at such times I would often indulge in a bit of retail therapy but I'm trying very hard not too. I've been very good so far and not bought any new clothes......just my little £2 evening bag. And as it passed the cup of coffee test with flying colours I don't feel guilty.

The cup of coffee test??? If a treat costs less than the price of a cup of coffee in a cafe then i can more or less freely indulge......within reason of course. ;). They don't break the bank.

Today's treat and a lovely chamopagne moment was a bunch of creamy white roses £2.50. A bunch of flowers is such a pick me up and if you think they usually last at least a week then it's pleasure for pennies. Definitely passing the cup of coffee test. Last weeks 99p tulips are still going strong. :D.

Wednesday....I'd forgotten about my foot spa. My feet are sore today (arthritis). I'll dig it out later. Mine is actually wax rather than water but pretty much the same principle behind it. Softens hard skin etc and definitely helps ease aches and pains. Thanks for reminding me. I'll do my hands too.

My shoulders are also bad too (gawd I'm a wreck):rotfl: - I think it's the cold damp weather - so I bought some mineral salts for the bath.

Wednesday....your charity shop buys sound great. I'm definitely going to have a go at dyeing stuff again. I used to do it regularly. I've got some pastel coloured towels and some white ones my son bought. Well it was his ex girlfriends idea. :rotfl::rotfl: We have hardly used them, they just aren't very practical.

Have you dyed towels. Do they stay nice and fluffy or does the dye make them hard.

I am also thinking of enrolling for sewing classes.

I feel like getting "creative". :D

hi Harz. Long time, no "see". Hope all is well.

Thanks for the info. The do look good, I think I fancy a small group rather than the ships bigger groups. They say they work round cruise ship shore timings too, so I'll definitely look into these.

    Thank you so much.
