Dogs and toast!
Our cat loved toast and marmite. If we wanted some we'd have try and eat it sneakily! He'd sit there, looking up plaintively, eith the odd pathetic little miaow!
Off to see Mary Poppins on the meerkats this afternoon and probably to Prezzo on them, too.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Afternoon folks!
I have had a champagne-day....shopping on the internet!
I have had some vouchers from Christmas to spend - Lakeland and a Christian store...so I am now awaiting a fermentation jar and pebble - to make my own Sauerkraut, and a new Spiralizer...plus a couple of new books.0 -

I'd definitely keep the holiday LL and give the kitchen a cheap revamp. You can make big changes to a space without spending loads if the basics are there.
If you really can't live with the current "look" new doors for existing units can work out really quite inexpensive and give the look of a brand new kitchen without the cost or upheaval.:)
Not much by way of "champagne moments" today, I discovered a leak under my kitchen sink. Thanks to the lovely local plumber it's all sorted now and well worth the tenner it cost:cool:. Still I suppose I now have lovely clean and tidy cupboard instead of the previous glory hole......:)0 -
Greetings ladies, candygirl, I hope Zeus is getting better. LL, I think that asking what your 90 year old self would prefer is a great idea. I have photos from different holidays on the wall so that when I can no longer travel I will be able to remember that yes, I did once stand on the Great Wall of China. The kitchen (or bathroom in my case) can wait.
There are some interesting films out at the moment, I am planning to see Stan and Ollie. Did anyone else see The Old Man and the Gun ? I thought it was very good,Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0 -
Not many champagne moments for me this week. Both my mum and my daughter were taken to the hospital on Monday. Different hospitals at different times.
There fine now just a worry. I have managed to declutter more with vinted.
I saw the favourite and have to say wasn't that impressed which is a shame because I like Olivia Coleman.
Sorry, not caught up with the thread since Monday hope everyone's alright and are bathing in champagne.an GC. £180.00/£3000 -
Good morning everyone.
Sooty...sorry to hear about your mum and daughter. Hope all is well.
Hi Sheila. how's tricks. Hope your husband is doing ok (or as well as can be). It's a hard time for you. Sending you hugs and good vibes.
Well I really enjoyed Colette. I won't give anything away but I thought Keira Knightly gave a very strong performance and of course she looked as ravishing as ever. She's a beauty, although personally I think she's very thin.
I used my "Insider" points so ended up paying £2.95. Bargain. Just went for a coffee afterward rather than a meal. I'm trying very hard to shift some weight and the restaurants menu was all of the burger and chips variant and as my friend is also weight watching we gave it a miss. So a cheap date. Just had a nice healthy light supper when I got home. Very virtuous. :rotfl:
Popped into a chazzer and picked up a pretty black beaded evening bag £1.99 so well pleased. No food spends so all in all a bargaintastic day and my champagne moments were all well within my lemonade budget. And of course the amazing sunset was free.
Re the holiday. I don't have to make a final decision until 9th February. However I am inclined to agree with your sage advice......I'll go for it!!!
When I booked it was an absolute bargain, on checking again I can see that similar holidays are currently a lot dearer. Also if I were to postpone I would forfeit my deposit.
I'll just wait until the car has had its MOT before parting with my money - just in case.
The kitchen can wait. Who knows I might make such a good job with the revamp that I don't need a full rip out job. I should be able to start overpaying the mortgage after the holiday. It's only putting the overpayments on hold for 6 months so no real biggie.
In the meantime I will continue trying to raise a few extra pennies here and there and also continue to stick to a tight budget for a while. And, as Mr Cawber would say....."something will turn up". :rotfl:
Have a great day and lots of champagne moments.0
