the card doesnt state you owe a £1 fee
it states underpaid items carry a £1 fee
and has a seperate box to show a customs fee is due
I'm glad you're an ex postie and don't deliver in my road as I'd never get my mail as you obviously dont read whats in front of you:D
I wrote.....
"Includes a £1 handling fee for underpaid items"
and that is exactly what's said on the card0 -

I have read, ordered, completed and dealt with 1000's of customs cards
they are printed by ROMEC
there are 2 boxes on the card
it states underpaid items have a £1 fee
and on the 2nd box there is a square to tick for a customs charge.
a customs charge is not an underpaid item0 -

You are still not reading what I said...
As stated by the RM employee behind the counter
"we don't have seperate cards to use so just use any we can"
Got it now?
They hadn't got the correct card to push through my door so they used another type, it's obviously different to the ones you would use, as what you are describing is NOT the one I received.
So your statement thatit states underpaid items carry a £1 fee
"Includes a £1 handling fee for underpaid items
If you continue to ignore what I say is correct, then to prove I'll post a scan that I took of the RM card on here, then you can publicly apologise0 -

So your statement that is incorrect... it doesn't. It says
"Includes a £1 handling fee for underpaid items

a customs fee isnt an underpaid item
so how can the £1 fee apply?
the grey 'charge cards' are used for all charges
so underpaid items/customs charges0 -
so the box showing no tick to the sender didnt pay enough postage isnt a clue?
as i have said.a customs charge isnt an underpaid item0 -
I really didn't think these cards were so hard to understand. Maybe would should get the spoof red ones on RMC redesigned for the grey cards too.:rotfl:
"Includes £1 handling free for underpaid items" <--- does that not explain it all?
Customs charge is not an underpaid item. This is what it says on the tin. A levy enforced by Customs, RM pays it for you, takes mail out of mainstream mail and treats it like a special delivery.... repeating myself again.......
An underpaid item is an item that has no stamp or insufficient stamps on to cover the cost of postage.
Although I suppose from a royal mail customer's point of view it could be...........
Nah, seriously, not!4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
so the box showing no tick to the sender didnt pay enough postage isnt a clue?

For the final time....
It says I owe £13.54 and directly underneath it, it adds
"Includes a £1 handling fee for underpaid items"
Not my fault RM are that sloppy that they'll put wrong cards through the door instead of the proper ones that state the £8 handling fee
I suppose it would confuse you, still, keep taking the tablets.0 -
What it should say, and what it actually means, is " Includes a £1 handling fee for underpaid items where applicable " so it is the correct card. As yours was not an underpaid item that fee was not included. This is probably done because people would argue why there was a larger fee rather than simply the difference between a letter and large letter.0

It doesn't include £1 handling fee as your item WASN'T an underpaid item. As custardly said, these cards are used for both underpaid items and customs charges. Yet another way of RM to save some money, instead of having separate cards for different items it's the same card with multiple choice.....The £1 is only applicable for UNDERPAID items as stated above. A letter comes through with no stamp, there is £1.32 to pay on it, 32p for postage and £1 handling fee. Custom charges are totally different. Your card clearly states it's a custom charge, not an underpaid item...4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

And just for the record it's not the wrong card!
And furthermore, there is a breakdown of all charges on your packet...
Which will include the customs charge, the handling fee and the new total.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
