well your no more likely to pay somebody knocking on your door dressed as a milkman if you never have your milk delivered or in this case expecting mail.

Vulnerable people will get conned no matter what and do. Hi love need to check your gas...?

common sense not a strong point for you.. as for postman being mugged, im talking about the people who deliver parcels by van, not by bike. They are hardly going to be carrying large amounts of cash duty anyway between loads.

This makes them no more of a target than the milkman or the window cleaner.

I mentioned the union because i expected your response in that it summerises the general inflexibility or the workforce to change to modern working practices, but then that is a whole other matter.

    Keep the excuses coming.

so now all customs charges must go by a van?
mmmm thats going to be free as well
whats 'modern' about going round doors collecting money?

my window cleaner does his cash collections with his large Rottweiler after he got mugged
but well its okay isnt it,its a risk you take in those jobs

so far all i have seen from you is foot stomping about why its all unfair on you.

So you're happy for vulnerable people to have another avenue of conning them out of money that there are currently ? Idiot.

all i have seen from your replys is antagonism from the start custardly, why dont you bog off.

its not about how unfair it is on me, its about how unfair the system is on everyone that gets ripped off.

The majority of packages that are stopped at customs will be of a size that mostly get delivered by van, its easy to pick holes when others are suggesting possible solutions.

Your supposed costs to rm as i keep saying are self inflicted, self inflicted because of poor business practices get it?..

All others costs are imaginary to placate morons like yourself.

im done with you. if only there were a ignore button.

Good grief damnjet, I would love to know where you get some of your ideas from. Yes any customs packet is removed from mainstream mail, therefore costs are involved. The costs need to be absorbed somewhere, this is not paid for by customs. Who should pay it? Should RM and other couriers do this for nothing?

Custardly has kindly explained to you how these customs charges work from RM's point of view. He and I have both worked as PHG (the person who deals with customs charges) and let me tell you most of them are of size that would be delivered by your normal walking postie. I see no reason for throwing insults around.

If you can suggest a better way of doing this, please suggest it to Customs. I'm sure they would be glad to hear it. RM and other courier companies are not there to absorb the costs of this on behalf of the customer or customs, they are a business like any other and are there to make money.

There are so many posties attacked on rounds collecting money on the doorstep just gives the numpties another reason to attack. But should royal mail provide this service without charging for it too? You don't want to pay the fees that RM set out but you want them to deliver it to your door and collect the fee without there being any charge for this service? Have already stated previously that you can pay for this online and your item will be sent out to u if that's what you request.

As for stopping all doorstep collections, personally I would, but that would be up to the individual companies to make that decision. As RM have.

I'm still confused about why its unfair to pay for RM service. I'd like to see dammjet independently import items from abroad and deal with the HMRC cheaper cost.

So whens the court case happening?
