No.
If you use minutes only, it makes not sense to buy add-ons at '3'.
However, if you need, say, more than 500 texts p.m., then by buying, say, £10 add-on you can cut a cost of one text from 2p to up to 0.3p. The same for data.0 -
Hi newbie here.
Just looking around for a good deal after my GiffGaff nightmare:mad:. For all those thinking of switching to GG my advice is dont. I tried to join this week. Payments were taken but no SIM activation. There are literally 100s of people on their forums, facebook and twitter complaining. In addition apparently the network was down for almost a day yesterday and some people still cant connect. Their whole system network looks quite poor, and they admit to a single point of failure that has caused yesterday's and previous outages.
On the support side there's no phone lines to talk to anybody and the "agents" that are supposed to sort out your problems are pretty useless, and just fob you off with excuses. In addition I've just seen a couple of other problems when scanning the GG forums
1) you can not use tethering with an Iphone (e.g no hotspot) on GG and
2) apparently there are also many problems trying to get the under 18 restrictions removed. They require either a UK passport or driving licenses. They will accept nothing else (which means they have details of your documents !). According to one helper on the forum this is one of their biggest issues today and the system often fails even with those documents. They provide no alternative means to provide age.0 -
:j Hi I tried these guys and so far so good. There is only one hook, that your employer needs to agree on it, but was not a problem for me as he saved money on national insurance. They cut my monthly payment nearly in half thanks to latest government laws on benefits for employees,. You can imagine how happy I am.
Go and try it yourself. Google Salaryflex uk

They are nightmare, something like honest broadband from Yorkshire, three and virgin) try to avoid them. If I can give you advice, try vodafone or O2 as they at least still have decent call centers and you can speak to someone pretty quickly. And also I just posted, I am trying company called Salaryflex. They cut my cost and they are always on the phone. It is second month and so far so good.

Mobile telephones and telephony as a whole are crazy cheap in Austria. I got a Huawei Ascend P6 for 0€ and my rate is really cheap, including minutes to other European countries, as well as the states and China.0

Hello mobile newbie here, am used to my works mobile which is ancient nokia but would like advice on a mobile for personal use. I do not need loads of texts but do tend to chat a lot, would like to receive emails, occasional use of internet, music and decent camera. Not fussed whether PAYG or contract as long as price will be fairly standard. I would also like it to look a bit trendy too!
All advice welcomed

There are good Android smartphones for under £100. Search the board for 'huawei' and 'zte'.
If you can survive with 150 minutes, for a PAYG sim see http://ovivomobile.com/offer/ovivo-for-phones/. Otherwise check the sticky on the top of the board.0 -
