When my Orange contract ended, after reading advice here, I called them to say I am thinking of leaving and I got Samsung Tocco Ultra (which I wanted due to its 8 MP camera) for £20 a month, 18 months, 400 minutes, 300 texts (I text maybe 10 times per month so I did not care about it), unlimited free calls to landline anytime, free mobile internet and free Orange insurance (also I keep my Magic numbers).
I am very happy about it and I want to thank everyone who posted in this thread with advice!0 -
Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help.
I have a need at work to use a mobile phone for business. This need is only temporary and could be gone in about 6 months possibbly longer. We have thought about PAYG but it would cost too much as I could be looking at using maybe 30-45 minutes a day (Mon-Fri).
The problem is that the need is only temporary. One solution is signing a contract that the business covers until the need has gone. I would then continue with the contract and use the phone as my own. However, in my personal life I do not want to spend any more than £15 a month on a mobile phone.
Can anyone suggest a solution as I have never had a contract before and it all seems a bit complicated? Are there such things as monthly contracts?
Thanks very much.0 -

Hi there I am looking to take out a blackberry contract for my 16 yr old daughter. I will need full email and internet browsing. I have tried the recommended sites to compare package costs. Whilst they give you the option to include the minutes and texts required, they do not specify which tariffs include blackberry email and/or internet browsing. Often these are a bolt on to the plans and in some plans two bolt ons are required. These sites are confusing enough and I want to avoid being unnecesssarily stung. Any ideas.

I've just ordered Samsung Toco Lite from Phones4U. On Vodafone 18 months at £15 per month. Only 75 minutes and 250 texts but I already have a work phone and free minutes at home so this would just be for incoming and the odd personal call. £40 cashback through Quidco and £90 cashback through Phones4U via redemption which makes it £7.77 per month. I thought this was quite a good deal for what I need. Have done about three redemptions with them before without problem.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

I just got the Samsung E1100 from Carphone Warehouse for £4.95 unlocked - with £5 cashback from topcashback the phone was effectively free. That was with Virgin though and you have to buy £10 credit with any phone. They have the same phone on Orange but it's £6.95 (or £1.95 after cashback) plus £10 for the top-up. OR if you just need the phone get it on Virgin etc for £4.95 (free after £5 cashback) - you will get stuck with the extra sim card and £10 credit though unless you have a friend or relative who wants it. Anyone know what I can do with the Virgin sim and £10 as I don't need either?"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

Hello there Competitionscafe,
Thanks for this... Can't find the Carphone Warehouse on TCB, or a Virgin site where you can get £4.95 cashback for one... did you order recently?
Cheers,
