Hi fellow potters . . .
Thought it was time to finally get started so, I cashed out my totals from Topcashback £130 and Quidco £60 and added that to the £20 note I found in the pocket of a coat that hadn't been worn since last winter.
So, now I have £200 to start the new year off with flying colours. Next job is to count up the tin of loose change and the tin of £1 coins that I started much earlier in the year . . . I just hope the latter are all the new shape coins!.
I'm so glad Christmas is now over, was unwell from December 23rd with a stinking cold and a hacking cough which is now getting slightly easier. No festive food or beverage at all, couldn't face anything so hopefully have lost a few lbs . . . shame they couldn't be added to the ££'s already saved!.
Happy New Year to all the potters out there and keep up the good work . . . your piggy banks, pots, tins, boxes, jars, bottles et al . . . all need you.

A pretty generous £4.20 added to my pot today! My husband puts all his loose change in a tray in our kitchen and there was quite a bit (we were at a wedding last night) so I snaffled the above amount and left him with £10 exactly. I'm kind to that man! HahaSealed Pot Challenge 075
Pay off by Xmas 2019 #02 - target £10,0000 -
Can I join please?
I don't have a target in mind but Christmas this year was so stressful with trying to find money and being paid on Christmas Eve, it'd be nice to have something put aside so I can at least start my Christmas shopping before December for once! I've got an empty 5 litre washing up liquid bottle that I'm hoping to use. I just need to check I can get a 50p or £2 coin through the hole first! Fingers crossed it works as I'll then cover it somehow and reuse it forever.0 -

@cybertortoise if you're unable to fit a 50p in, maybe just seal the lid up and cut a coin sized slot in the top/ side?
Just imagine the fun you'll have emptyingSealed Pot Challenge 075

Through a combination of the above and as a latecomer, I'm pleased with my current pot total of £42.07, although I did spend an inordinate amount chasing down a 20p coin I lost in the living room!
I'm really curious what my total will be for the year which will be put toward my Xmas purchases.
You stay determined and motivated, Saving Glut and I'm sure you will be quite amazed at just much can be saved from now until October. Don't forget that you can include all that you save in your SPC challenges in your SPC declaration. All the best with saving well!!Thankyou everyone and thanks for my numberI have some loose change in an unsealed pot so am off to count it and start my sealed pot. Do the 20ps from the 20p challenge get added to this total? Or the money from the 1p a day challenge?
It's lovely to have you with us, Lynnsey! Good to hear that you're including your previous savings in your pot. Save hard and don't forget that you can include all that you save in your SPC challenges in your SPC declaration at the end of next October!!
Good advice, Purplemumof2!!
Excellent saving, motivated!! :j You've really done well!!!
It's ok datlex, I'd taken notice that you don't bother paying out extortionate prices to pubs on nights when they overcharge so much, good for you!!
Don't worry, elsiepac, whatever you're able to save then that's fine by us. So long as you're happy saving that's all that's important, and as you say, it all adds up! Well done with your line penny from Sainsbobs! I notice you took the right steps in checking there wasn't an owner around! Brilliant work!!
I'm so pleased you were able to enjoy Christmas without being called out, 32b3! Everything played to your advantage quite clearly...even down to the holes!! :rotfl: Thanks a lot for cybertortoise's welcome.
I quite agree, Aaleigha, everyone is doing so well with saving, which is why I'm sure there will be a Grand Total of around £50,000 come December!! :j It really helps when the members are so motivated to save all they possibly can - you too I hope!!
Hello again Rasp! :hello: I hope you also had a wonderful Christmas, everyone here seems to have done.Great saving with your shrapnel, I know it always sounds so pitiful when there's so little in the pot, but give it time and it'll soon be jingling!! Thanks for the greetings, a very safe, healthy and happy New Year to you also! :j

Potted some small change in my pot, I am doing the 1p savings challenge so put my small change into another pot that I can get into and then when I have a large amount I put it in my sealed pot and tick off the total on my 1p savings sheet.
I am aiming to cross some of the bigger ones off to start with as last year I did most of the small ones first and didn't manage to save as much as I'd have liked.
I am also saving £2 coins again and will be paying them off my credit card as soon as I have £20 and putting a piece of paper in my sealed tin with the amount as I need to get out of debt asap. I've gone from 6 credit cards to 5 and have £500 left to pay off card no 5.
Roll on 1st January, let the saving begin. Gutted they don't do savings accounts with Passbooks anymore, so much better than doing it online and less temptation to take money out.

Hey Potters,
I've thrown in a few handfulls of loose change into my pot.
Have been doing the grocery challenge as well, so as I'm getting less notes out of the cash point, I'm finding I have less change for the pot!
I will be making an overpayment on my mortgage this month... so I'm guessing what dusn't end up as change will end up as bricks and mortar!
Drinks at my parents house party tonight so that will be no very mse as its free!
Enjoy your new years celebrations!!# 36 1p challenge 2024 - £536.60

:rotfl: Sue - the cards where a great success abd slowly teaching the kids bridge. The welcome I think that was to the new members rather than our game
Last day if the year and I've checked usual places for any last potting of year and found nothing. My last ditch effort was taking hubby's jeans for wash but his pockets where empty.
Looking forward to potting with you all in the new year and feel relieved I'm being organised towards the cost of next Christmas already. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230
