Bubbs~~If you were below target range last week ie more than 3lbs under, you would have had to pay this week if still under target. If not there this week then double next week.

I thought I’d posted this yesterday!
Any loss is a good loss, Bozwood. Well done.

maman, we used to put the tree up on the 20th December too – the day after my son’s birthday. I used to leave Christmas shopping until then too. Now that he’s not at home the tree goes up in December 1st so that the grandkids can enjoy it. Shopping is well on track, although I keep threatening to leave it all until after my DH’s birthday (25th), but everyone says that’s just too Grinch-like!
My craziest meal out was a staff lunch I was at, not long after I’d retired – the Scotch Broth was so good I had it for dessert too!
The podiatrist fixed the inserts to my shoes. She puts them into any shoes/boots I take to her. I also have a wee pair of half insoles I bought online for my slippers – I slip them into other ‘undoctored’ shoes as required.

I’ve been a bit naughty SW wise today. ‘Nuff said.

    And on to today!

Congrats to son on graduation, beanie. You must be bursting with pride! And all the pesky gain will spill out.

    Well done, OG and Vixstar.

Lunch with a friend was cancelled, so I tried to arrange to meet with another. It’s only been a month since I’ve seen her but she said she couldn’t come out a as she wasn’t doing so well just now. She’s been struggling for some time with COPD and with her weight. She smoked too, despite the COPD and despite having been a radiographer. She did give up smoking but every time she did, she gained weight – a really vicious circle. She has used a stick/zimmer for a while and she got a wee dog to make sure she got out. We agreed that I would call in to see her anyway for a cuppa. What a shock I got! She’s put on a LOT of weight in that month, her feet are very swollen and her breathing is rough. She gave up cigarettes 2 weeks ago in favour of vaping. Her neighbour now walks the dog for her. I was so sad to see this; she’s one month older than me and we’ve been friends for 54 years. She was my bridesmaid and Godmother to my daughter.

Sorry to finish on such a downer, but it’s filling my mind right now.

Is it Christmas stuff getting in the way? Lack of planning? What's making you struggle? Well done on your pound:T

    Morning,

I think it's the mixture of them all.. :( Lack of motivation being one of them. I'm only 0.5 lb from my original target, which I lowered after few weeks as I was doing so well. I'm comfortable where I am now, however stubborn enough to try to achieve the lowest weight I'm allowed as I thought that's what I want. Not sure anymore..

Anyway I should do better than I am.. Last night was very bad (I mean Dominos bad ), but today is a new day, hopefully day on plan, fingers crossed :)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

Sending you (dodgy) :grouphug: greentiger. So sorry to hear about your friend. COPD is a horrible disease - something I've suffered from since my early 30s but as diagnosed as asthma until after shortly after I retired when I ended up in hospital for 3 weeks drifting in and out of consciousness. It was when I had my follow up appointment a few weeks later than I was told that I didn't actually have asthma but COPD.

Giving up smoking is so very hard to do no matter how ill you are. I didn't manage until that 3 weeks in hospital but had tried so many times for the previous 30 years - even giving up for 9 months at one time but stress caused me to start again. It's now nearly 7 years since I stopped and my COPD has definitely improved - so much so I've now started exercising daily.

Hopefully your friend will improve slowly now that she has stopped smoking, although I'm not convinced about vaping but if it helps her good luck to her.

Sorry that was a bit of a life story there. Back later with SW matters!

Hi, hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Didn't make it to group this morning so won't weigh again officially until next Saturday, but I have a medical on Monday so I'll be weighed then, will see how it goes :)

Woke up through the night with a sore throat and couldn't get back to sleep so it's going to be a few lazy days and hope it clears up by Monday.

Yesterday's meal was great and I managed to stay semi-sensible, and didn't go over the top with the alcohol either as could feel the throat niggling, but I'm still counting around 90syns all in. Just as well I had loads of no/low syn days through the week!

Made the SW Swedish Meatballs with spaghetti for lunch which was nice but didn't have any speed with them, so a bit of a faux pas there. Tonight it's SW Lasagne which will make enough for tonight's tea and Sunday & Monday's lunches. Just need to go get some veg to go with it!
You can have results or excuses, but not both.

Have had a couple of days under Syns so far but probably going to be over today as already used 16.5 for lunch! Helped I didn't have the wine last night and just stuck with diet tonic:A.

    Today's plan:

B - Fry up - bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes; bread
L - 1/2 part baked Demi baguette (9.5:eek:); 2 syns spread, whiting, small glass of red wine (had this at the micro pub before lunch) 5 syns
    D - Squash curry & brown rice

Good job there's plenty of speed in the curry as there's not much the rest of the day!

    HEA - milk as usual
    HEB - 1 slice bread/1 hifi bar
    Syns - 16.5 as above
