Baked potato with no butter

Cottage cheese is good with jacket potatoes. I have it with spring onion chopped into it and pickled cabbage or beetroot on the side. Would that be a suitable diabetic option?:)

Thanks Maman, sounds like it could be a good option, at least I think cottage cheese is OK!

It seems that different people doing the same course are being told different things - doesn't give you much faith in the courses does it?

Mum doesn't have much faith in the course. She's a retused nurse and has more knowledge than some of the teachers.

    Denise

I know mum still has cottage cheese so should be fine.

    I had a 1.5 lb gain last night :(
Deserved but still don't like it. Doing a food diary this week and going to go to the new member talk next week. Need to get my motivation back and having talked to consultant we think starting again doing stuff like I did it when I first started is what I need. I'm good at planning but then I eat stuff I haven't planned so if I go back to writing stuff down as I eat it, it might help.

    Today's plan:
Breakfast - bacon, egg, tomato and mushrooms
    Lunch - cauliflower cheese soup
    Dinner - stir fry
    Snacks - fruit, yogurt

    HA - milk and cheese
HB - none planned but if I feel hungry I will have toast and marmite

Good to hear from you Stoke, I was wondering where you'd got to. Have you been ill enough to go off your food and lose weight?;)

That's a good idea to sit in on the new member talk for a refresher kathrynha although I know I'd find it hard to keep quiet and listen.:o 1.5lbs isn't too bad a gain at all. Considering all the problems, you've not gained massively. Hang on in there.:A

Tomorrow will be my first meal out for a couple of weeks. We're going to a pub which doesn't advertise its menu so no idea what choices I'll be able to make. Today will be on plan though.:)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk, pear and banana
    L: LO hash with veg
D: Tagliatelle Bolognese (packed with Speed:p)
    Syns: syrup 2.5

I know it could be worse Maman. Medical stuff isn't helping the gain, but my motivation is the main issue. Feeling down with it but if I can take control hopefully I will feel better.
Also daughter has hurt her knee again and back on crutches so more stressjl_smith@yahoo.co.uk there too

    Afternoon!

Tomorrow we have a curry day in work where everyone brings something different and we try a wee bit of everything, it's nice but definitely not on plan! I won't be having much though (if any) as I like quite spicy foods and the majority of dishes brought in are mild/creamy. I've ordered my favourite dish from our usual curry house and I'm collecting it tonight, but I think I'll make myself a small portion of SW garlic chilli chicken and I'll just have that tomorrow.

B - Porridge made with milk (HEA & B) and then an onion bhaji (random for breakfast I know!!) - 0 syns
Mid morning - Wholemeal roll with chicken tikka, salad and mayo - 13.5 syns (estimated)
    L - SW Lasagne - 1 syn
D - Chicken Noodle Broth (from Savvy Shoppers Cookbook but made with frylight instead of oil) with plenty of speed added (baby corn & mangetout) - 0 syns
You can have results or excuses, but not both.

Stoke sorry to hear you've been ill, glad you're feeling better nor.

Fatrab why don't you make a SW curry you'll enjoy and then you can have that and not worry about the rest!

Interested to know what syn free onion bharjis you're having. Is it the ones made with sweet potato?

I've got the Savvy Shoppers Cookbook but haven't actually made anything from it! Let us know what the chicken noodle broth is like please?

    Today's plan:

B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast
L - ploughman's type thing - smoked salmon, ham, chicken thigh, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, pepper, pickled onions, pickled beetroot & syn free onion chutney. Also had about 1/2 Tbs of HM hummus - 1 syn
D - HM faggots (0.5 syn); mash & veg, syn free onion gravy. Not sure what veg yet but think I've got some Savoy cabbage in the fridge which probably ought to be used up so will have that plus something from the freezer.

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - hummus 1; faggots 0.5; not sure what else but no doubt will have something this evening

    Denise
