Had a look on mysupermarket, Asda looks hopeful for mixed pickle.

Why doesn't anyone do jars of pickled cauliflower?

Thanks Maman, will try Asda. Why not indeed?

VickyT Morrisons have Haywards mixed pickle, it was £1 a jar a couple of weeks ago.

STS for me this week, pleasing considering two birthday nights out, a works Xmas do, and an Xmas shopping trip with my sister. I'm obviously being good when not out and not as bad as I could be the rest of the time.
Still only 1/2lb from my next shiny, it is taking forever!

Thanks Vixstar. I will try Morrisons too. Love the pickled cauli, and no one else in the house does, so I won't need to share nicely!

Thanks for the tip on pickled cauliflower denise. I haven't made my own pickles for years although I used to do onions regularly. I enjoy the cauliflower pickled but I don't like the soggy slices of gherkin in the mixed jars. Give me a nice crisp cornichon any day.:D

Join the club GTS. It's damage limitation for me every week! Always have far too many syns over the weekend. Hoping to be a bit better today so I will still have at least some syns each day Mon-Wed!

I've done that since Day 1. I don't think SW would have ever worked for me long term if I couldn't save syns for the weekend. I find it relatively easy (except for Christmas and holidays with excessive eating out ) to be very low syn during the week but I enjoy my weekend wine.:D Some people like a daily treat but that's not important to me.

Currently I seem to be lurching from one event to another just being good when I can. I know I'm likely to be out of target in the new year (probably already am:() but I'm resigned to that. I'll have about a month before my holiday to India to try to get back in range so I'll do my best. It's not a beach holiday anyway and I plan to take fairly loose, comfortable clothes so it won't be the end of the world if I'm still a bit over.:)

Football today. It's one of many that's being televised so the time is changed to 1.30 p.m. on a Sunday. As it's early I'll have plenty of time to do a roast when I get home although I'm cheating a bit and doing lamb steaks rather than a joint.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk, banana
L: not really hungry yet but if necessary I'll take an apple to football and snack until dinner time when I get home
D: lamb steak, SW roast potatoes, cauli, broccoli, savoy cabbage, swede & carrot mash, red cabbage (plenty of LOs lined up for tomorrow:D)
Syns: syrup 2.5, HM gravy 4?, weekend wine:).

Thanks and hope you are better, well done on your loss:T:T now that's what hubby has asked for celery soup, i have found a recipe can you share yours please :D

I'm a bit of a 'throw it in and hope for the best' kind of cook, especially for soup making, but this is what I did yesterday:

    Whole head of celery chopped (reserve the leaves at the top}
    1 medium white onion chopped
1 medium potato, peeled and chopped
Roughly 1.5 pints of vegetable stock, made from 2 veg stock cubes

Fry the vegetables gently in frylight until onions are softened
Add stock, bring to boil then simmer for about 20 mins. Test that the celery is soft, you can simmer a bit longer if not. Whizz up (I use a stick blender). Tear or chop up the leaves and add to the pan. Check seasoning and serve. You can add milk to the soup and warm through but I didn't bother yesterday as it was just the right consistency.

BubbsSounds like my DH. He has no idea what is Free, Syns, Speed, HEA, HEB etc and expects me to make sure he doesn't eat the "wrong" stuff.

Feel like I'm getting the hang of this now and reading all your posts is also giving me lots of inspiration. I'm an online member and wondering what will happen regarding the new year changes. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks Bubbs for the Super 6 info but as we're not at home Christmas Day no good for me this time! But 19p each, that's amazing! If I wasn't having my kitchen done in the new year I would have bought some and frozen them but I need to empty my inside freezer and get everything into my outside one and there just wouldn't be enough room.
