Think they always ask that, probably so they can decide whether you've had it long enough to warrant spending money on medication!

Better that you get over it now and be fit for Christmas bubbs . :xmastree:

Just a heads up for anyone that's a pickle fan like me: the Baxters relish is on offer at £1 in Sainsburys. Makes a change from the usual suspects.

speaking of pickle, I have been struggling to find mixed pickle, the jars with little pickles onion, slices of gerkins and most importantly pickled cauliflower in. Does anybody who stocks it please? I tried all the local stores and even the big T yesterday with no joy. Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that - my internet connection was playing up and didn't think it had posted. MSE doesn't usually let you double post but must have been long enough between trying!

Last night's tapas was OK but to be quite honest was expensive for what we had. DH was still hungry when we came home so ended up with a sandwich!!!

We had tiger prawns, squid, mussels in a chilli, tomato sauce, meatballs in a very lightly spiced tomato sauce & chorizo slices in red wine. Was very good alcohol wise and only had one glass of sangria, which I was disappointed with as my neighbour who's been to one of these evenings before said the owner made it really strong but to me it was just like drinking a sweet red wine! It'd of preferred a normal glass of red wine to be honest and it would have been cheaper:rotfl:. We also got a small salad and sliced white French stick - I was very good and only had 2 of the smallest pieces and that was to pick up some of the tomato sauces as they only have us forks to eat with!

As expected everything was quite oily - funnily enough one of the least oily was chorizo which has quite a bit of it's own oil, doesn't it! Am going to call it 25 Syns which is probably about how many I'd have on a normal Friday night and enjoy it more.

Have decided we definitely won't be doing another tapas night there as just not worth the money.

The food was so different from what they normally serve which is extremely good and also very good value for money. Last time we went it was 2 meals for £10 at lunchtime and extremely good. Will stick with eating there at lunchtimes in future.

Think this post is long enough for now and also need to check my menu plan to see what we're having today so will be back later to post that in a while.

Well done TIE. Always good when you get an unexpected loss.

Back with my plan for today:

B - fry up - bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes
L - cheese on toast - I always make mine with an egg & mustard powder and then spread it on before toasting
D - Mini potee - 5 syns (had to use the syn estimator using the figures on the pack to work it out) - gammon hock, onions, garlic, swede, celery, carrots, white beans (been soaking dried ones overnight), Savoy cabbage & potatoes, stock (think that's the lot from memory but will have to check the recipe again!)

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - potee 5 syns; couple of rum & diet ginger beer 5 Syns

    Afternoon everyone.

My gain from last week has vanished again without effort so I think it must have been related to being poorly (hope you soon feel better Bubbs!) so back a bit under target, though another 1lb wouldn't go amiss as insurance for Christmas.

Annie I went to SW for 3 months at the start of last year and then carried on by myself, with the support of this brilliant group. I got to target in March of this year, losing 3 and 1/2 stone in total. There are lots of online resources for those going it alone - I keep threatening to write a post about the ones I've found helpful - New Years resolution there!

Having had 3 Christmas 'do's' planned I've missed them all, latest today as the weather forecast locally suggested we might not get home! Hey ho, all good for maintaining I suppose.

I'm on a mission to empty the freezer this week to make room for Christmas goodies so there might be some rather odd meals, but I'll do my best. It's sometimes surprising what you can make from nothing. We've just had HM celery soup for lunch (should have been a 3 course Christmas lunch :() - very much a comfort food sort of day here.

Wrap up warm and have a good weekend, all.
