Morning all :hello:
Another one with a busy week at work so glad it's the weekend. Also seeing one of my dearest friends, I've not seen her for a couple of weeks and I'm really looking forward to our catch up. We'll go for a walk to whilst we matter so good for the soul
other things:
Go to butchers and get joint for tomorrow's lunch
Shop from small shopping list
Meals for today from stores
Done DH tax return this morning :A just need to find one document to finalise the figures and I'll submit mine and his. Won't pay until the week before it's due though
Check banking move 3 lots of interest to savings
Cash out voucher I was sent for something and add to my account
Cash out from £co and pay to savings
More washing (does it ever end)
Sweep downstairs rather than using vacuum
Make a cake or biscuits with things I have in
Freeze the chickpeas I soaked and cooked yesterday
Have a good day everyone. Purps.0 -
Morning all :coffee:
I actually quite enjoyed my day off yesterday, and a bit of time with no plans. DS is feeling a lot better after a day of Calpol and watching dvd's, and so am I.
Plenty of time to think, and remind myself that there are things I can't control so just to try and let go of them. Easier said than done but there's no point panicking about my finances while they're still ongoing. I will find a way around it.
I got a bit of meal prep on the go and moved some stuff from fridge to freezer to reduce food waste. Also managed to get quite a bit of crochet done as I continue with my home made Christmas.
Today is half busy. I have a couple of hours of tutoring this morning (much needed £), and might meet bestie in town for a quick coffee before then. However, afternoon and evening will be quieter. I'm going to make chicken dinner for me and the kids and spend the evening watching the dancing. I've also made the conscious decision to continue to work on my sleep pattern and get back into the diet as that was making me feel much better. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning all,
A quiet Saturday here, no fixed plans although I do need to get some food in probably as I didn't do that yesterday.
Todays list
Clean 2nd fridge freezer that we switched off before going away and then switch it back on done
Clean 1st fridge freezer as a tube of tomato puree has leaked in there so its a bit of a sticky mess done and reorganised whats in there and added a few bits to the shopping list
Make a food plan for the next couple of days (at least through to Monday's families packed lunches) and make shopping list
Update banking spreadsheet as I've changed a few pots around done
Pay the boiler man = £628
done
Download the flylady app to my phone as I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the minute and it helps me to keep ticking over done
Listen to headspace app
Try to get back to doing some swag$, onepoll & isay if there are any as I could do with some vouchers to put towards Christmas
Update Christmas gift list as we added a few extra bits to what we took up to Yorkshire last week.done
Have the heating off as much as possible
Thats it for now, will maybe add more as I go later
 washed the last load of holiday washing and its hung over the radiators to hopefully dry if/when we put the heating on
renewed all the library books the family have out to avoid any fines
made another partial payment towards our Easter holiday and will get a bit of cash back via the icepoints website the :money: email recommended a few months ago
Decided to not go to the shops today so we've had back of the cupboard cereal for breakfast, for lunch fish finger sandwiches which finished off the bread (and I had a sachet of tartare sauce that was at the back of the fridge when I cleaned it this morning!) kids having the last of the yogurts - going to have stew with mash tonight - this will leave the fridge just about empty apart from sauces and jams!

Morning all

Just waiting for DD to descend with kids, so thought I would update on here while I get the chance
So far:
Washed hair and left to dry on its own
Made a batch of scones
Leek and potato soup on the go, using leeks from the garden
Beetroot on boil for salad tonight, also from garden
Quick tidy round
Must go and blitz the soup, back later to update
Fed everyone from what I had made / had in
Used last of HG spring onions and some rocket leaves from the garden in tonight's salad
Sowed some lettuce seeds for microleaves in the kitchen windowsill
Rescued some kalanchoe plants which came in a little decorative trough for Christmas last year. I planted them out in garden pots for the summer, but got them in as they may flower again, and won't survive the winter outside. They are massive :eek:and if they do flower, will be quite showy. Put them in quite big pots in the greenhouse for now, may bring them in tomorrow. Little fancy trough thing they came in now being used for microleaves for salad
Got a chicken out of the freezer to cook for tomorrow, and also some bacon for Sunday treat breakfast bacon sandwiches
Started a shopping list but am going to leave it as long as possible before I go
Just about to prep RM surveys items for the coming week, and package an ebay sale

Hi Saturday Savers,
A useful day - spendy, but not in a bad way, as all the Christmas gifts bought were planned purchases & we took advantage of a couple of good offers too.
*Took packed lunch to avoid the hungry lunchtime panini squander.
*Free gift from Body Shop plus triple points today.
*Treated myself to a magazine from my Personal Spends - chose one with a free calender & free smaller mag attached.
*Mr f's cooking night & he's making fab roasted butternut mac & cheese with some of our homegrown squash. There'll be enough for tomorrow too.
*Another bag decluttered to charity shop....although that's money saving to a future customer, rather than to me.
*Enjoyed testing all sorts of perfumes & unguents while shopping so smelled rather gorgeous for free!
*Paid another 50p into my sealed pot. Am opening it next month.
*Picked up Co-op order form for ordering free range fresh turkey. Cheaper than local butcher tho I don't begrudge paying out for a turkey. I get heaps of meals from it & enjoy the challenge.
*Grocery shopping more or less on budget - a couple of quid over, I reckon, once I deduct a few purchases from other budgets.
*Might open a bottle of wine for a belated wedding anniversary drinkypoo. It was last Sat, but we didn't feel remotely celebratory with Mum's funeral just a few days later. We're not going out though - we're tucking up on the sofa with a bit of TV nordic noir & chocolate.
Ok. I think that's my lot.

So yesterday afternoon turned into a bit of a baking/sorting/cooking session. I managed everything on my list, plus I made 4 jars of mincemeat. Didn't have any whiskey in, so I put amaretto in it instead. Smells lovely
I also managed to make:
Cauli cheese
Par roast parsnips and potatoes
HM stuffing
Inside of sausage rolls
Flapjack
And last nights tea
which was cauli macaroni cheese bake and jam sponge
Very satisfying. Also means I just have veg to chop today to be in possession of a ful Sunday lunch later today :T today I want to bake the sausage rolls and make an extra cake which should be fairly straightforward. Other things:
Vacuum upstairs
Clean bathroom
Washing shuffles
Get ready for tomorrow, including home work and packed lunches. May make some soup if I have time for dh. I've got several pots of left overs in the fridge I can use this week.
Roast a BNS as it'll be easier/quicker to use in a recipe of my meal plan later in the week if it's already cooked
Go for a run
DH and I to look at something online tonight so we can make a considered purchase
Think that's about all. Have a good day folks. Purps.0 -
Morning Purps & all who follow,
On today's list:
*Free fitness with a couple of hours garden clearing.
*Leftovers for dinner as mr f cooked plenty last night.
*Wrap 4 ebay sales using materials from my recycled wrappings stash.
*Photograph & list at least 10 more items on ebay.
*Set washer for Economy 7 overnight laundry.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Knit more of my jumper.
*2 baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Turn bedroom heater down as it's plenty warm enough atm with a blanket over the bed.
Have a good day all,

Morning folks!
Sounds like everyone is making the most of the weekend!
CCL - glad to hear you and DS are feeling better
Feeling very much in the Xmas mood this weekend (too soon?!) as DDs picked Arthur Christmas to watch for film night yesterday and this prompted them to start writing letters to Santa :santa2:
Today’s plans are:
1. Meals from stores.
2. DDs to tennis lesson this morning, then off to mum’s for lunch.
3. Meal plan for the week and write shopping list for tomorrow.
4. NSD
5. Mend hole in favourite winter cardigan (hopefully DM can help on this front as I don’t knit (yet!) and therefore am not certain of the best way to fix it...).
6. Check survey sites x4
7. Shake DH down for change to put into sealed pot :rotfl: - found more than £8 in coins in his car when I took out car seats!
Enjoy what’s left of the weekend everyone!

Morning all, I'm just back from the chaos that was Aldee at opening time  So glad I went on my own this morning!
I took my list and stuck to it. It was a £70 shop but we'd run everything down before we went away so I didn't think that was too bad.
Other then that todays plans are...
* Made breakfast bars from the "eat well for less" cookbook
* Breakfast was american pancakes with the last of the cheese and some sweetcorn
* Cook chicken and prep veg for lunch as we have my parents coming (hopefully leftovers for tomorrow night too)
* Make families lunches for tomorrow
* Heating off as long as possilbe
* Share bath water and continue use up of lotions and potions
* Watch a film from our stash with dh & kids tonight (and Dr Who)
* Update freezer list after this mornings shop
* Write a to do list for tomorrow when everyone is back to school & work
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning folks!
I should have posted yesterday but have been feeling a bit out of sorts - not down, but kinda fidgety and restless.
Some MSE stuff yesterday and some not MSE stuff. Did all the cooking for the week and we sorted out the fridge! Hoorah! Lots of kale and chard now in the freezer where it will keep!
Today is a normal work day so not much going on:- B/L/D from stores
- Ring home ins people - OH has lost the renew cover letter that I left on the desk! - it was a good choice! They reduced from £70 to £57 without me even asking!
- Charge phone in work - done.
- Messaged friend to give me a referral code for WGAC tp to get £5 off first order - done. This is cheaper than the tp we currently buy
- Pick up s-I-l's Christmas pressie from Matalan at lunchtime - done. Looks really nice
- Research door step wood - ongoing
- Update budget sheet - no new transactions since Thurs morning
- No alcohol
- Poss cast on next sock, although am a bit bored of knitting atm. Still they are Christmas pressies so I need to finish them! Managed to fluff up the Kitchener stitch on one yesterday, although will be fine on luckily.
- Parcel up ebay sale
- Bought mum's Christmas present - done.
