  • Morning,

Yesterday was payday, which meant I have updated all my online banking and moved money around to the appropriate pots. I have allocated my savings to several different accounts and hopefully I won't need to use these.

I ended October on 15/15 NSDs, just by the skin of my teeth. I have set myself the same target of 15 NSDs for November, with the hope that I will exceed this.

Yesterday was a NSD as we just stayed inside chilling, walked to the boys extra curricular and back then we went trick or treating. I actually do not like it but would have felt bad had the boy been left out so we went along with a friend of his. All that matters, is he had a good time.

Today will be a spend day as we are off to an indoor trampoline place with some friends. Its about a 40 minute drive away and I will be driving us all there as my friend isn't keen on motorway driving. I don't enjoy driving to new places but I will give it a try. I will take some drinks along with me but will most likely end up buying food/drinks there.

The boy was talking to me yesterday about money and asking about going places. I have explained to him that I have put £100 a month, aside for entertainment/days out and once it's gone, it's gone. He absorbed what I was saying and he agreed he can only do XYZ once a month etc. I want him to think more carefully about money and about saving up for things. I am trying to be so careful money wise yet finding a balance that works for us. I think money management is important. I think I am going to start allowing him the cash to 'pay' for things himself, rather then me hand it over.

Anyway, my list for today, albeit short:

    - Pick up prescriptions.
    - Go to indoor trampoline place.
    - Walk to extra curricular.
    - Put ironing away.
    Chandelier.
    Current Debt Repaid:
    £104/£619.

    Check out my Diary
    :D

    Hi all!

Haven’t had the time to post for a few days - busier than expected with end of half-term followed by Halloween...

    Plans for today are:

    1. Meals from stores. Need to use up ys bread for lunch and have got half a spooky pumpkin chocolate cake from yesterday for DDs after dinner. Done.

    2. Shopping list and menu plan for the weekend - need to pick up bits tomorrow. Done.

    3. NSD. Oh yeah, it’s gonna happen...Done! Sorely needed after a recent £430 car bill!

    4. Pay in bags of change at bank. £118 bagged with £18.72 left over - getting all ready for the next sealed pot challenge! Didnt manage today - next opportunity will be Monday.

    5. Pick up click and collect parcel containing part of MIL’s birthday present. Cost £12 but got cashback of £7.04 :j Not done, as above!

    6. Scan week’s receipts onto receipt app. Done.

    7. Check survey sites x4. Done.

    8. Sew up small hole in DHs old trousers before putting in cs bag. Will do once DDs in bed

    9. Email work re: return to work date. I thought this was going to be December 3rd but with unused annual leave added on to end of maternity leave, it’s now set at the 17th. 2 extra weeks with DS - what a treat! :D. Done.

Have a lovely day all :)

  • Hey :coffee:
I'm still here - just struggling a bit with the finances at the moment, as has now become the new norm. It's really stressing me out and I don't know what I can do about it (the answer is nothing short term except live frugally and suck it up).
Back at work this week, and feeling quite tired. Plus ds is really stressed out at the moment as well - way more than any 10 year old should be. So I've got lots happening.
However, I am trying to keep the faith. :D

    Afternoon all :)
Boo to having to work so late CLF - hope you either get paid overtime or time off in lieu - but if it is anything like my last job you won't get either :(
Been out this morning, to sales unit (it is payday yay :j), the post office and Aldi to do the shopping. Took the car due to having to carry 4 bags of shopping. Came to £29.99 and managed to get everything on my list, so I am happy with that.
    Checked banks and updated spreadsheet
Walked dog, not that he would walk very far this morning for some reason. He is small, and has a very definite idea of what he will and will not do. If he doesn't want to walk he just digs his heels in and refuses to move. I then have to either pick him up and carry him or turn round and go in the direction that he prefers, which was homewards today!

OH did some housework while I was out, but only because he wants to buy a bl00dy dashcam for the car. As I have not the slightest interest in such things, I made him research online himself, which he moans about, and I lose patience because he is so useless at it. But better that than my having to waste ages doing something so mind numbingly boring! Anyway, the one he wants isn't massively expensive but is still £50 odd on yet more tat imo :(

    Still to do:
Make a sausage and chorizo stew for dinner, will chuck in all the limp veg from the fridge :)
Might make carrot and coriander soup too, as I have a big patch of lovely coriander in the garden :)

Some housework - OH won't have done any dusting/ wiping down. If there isn't a machine for it, he doesn't think about doing it, but at least he did the hoovering :D
Ought to list some bits on ebay, but not sure if I have the patience today :rotfl:
Cut some salad leaves and spinach from the garden :)

Hope everyone's day is going as well as possible!

Dawn, I could recommend this dash cam.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0777F76P2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Dh bought this dash cam back in March and has been really pleased with it. When he first mentioned getting one I was expecting a £100+ spend but less then £30 for this one.

  • Morning :D jeez I am tired after my late stint last night. Haven't got to go to work till 10. Am hoping it's going to be a slow day....

dizzyblnd sorry I don't know. I'm not sure many of us on this thread do that. The elite 11+ thread on the grabbit board probably has lots of info on that....

    Today:

    * load of washing in a minute & hang up before I leave. Msg oh to ask him to get it in and hang on airer
    * all meals from stores - just cooking a chicken breast for lunch
    * quick fridge triage
    * read book(s) honestly feeling the leisure one more today!
    * check onepoll
    * update expenses/ot
    * maybe sewing tonight, maybe knitting, maybe just reading and an early night

Ok it's shoddy but all I can think of right now! Happy Friday guys :D

    Morning all!

Dawn - I'm on a really old contract so I actually get time and a half :D mwhahahahahaha.

DNMS - another late worker? I know those feels! I got up early (ish!) yesterday and made the cake - it's turned out nicely. It's made with peanut flour to up the protein content (v important for hubs). It would be low carb too but I made it with real sugar, not Stevia (or similar). It is not low calorie however :rotfl:

OH had a nice day I think. He got a lie in, a cooked brekkie, then we went to nearby outlet village to see if we could spend his birthday money (but no). Avoided coffee and cake spends by coming home and having coffee and cake. Then we went to see Bohemian Rhapsody (he's a big Queen fan and I'm pretty fond of them myself). Film was really good even though a bit sad in places obvs. It even made OH cry poor chap! He eschewed dinner out and just requested a few nibbles at home. What a cheap date!

    Today's plan:
    • B/L/D from stores - done
    • Gym this morning - awful awful session. Weak af today. Poss hormone related.
    • Go to butchers
    • Fridge triage - this now desperate - done
    • Turned the heating off as it seems milder - done
    • No alcohol - done
    • OH gigging - done
    • Knit sock - done
    • Wash on 30 deg and outside to dry - done
    Not a lot today

    Have a good one all
