ORGANISE your time. Will try and find a balance between studying, household chores, family time and me time.
I'm not doing it officially, but when I'm at home, I'm remembering each morning not to spend too long on the computer, and then doing a variety of tasks each day: some garden, some house, some paperwork, some phoning.

VALUES. Ultimate goal is to continue to OP the mortgage but to keep in mind ethical, environmental and family values.
I'm adapting crossrabbit's here, which means my goal is to look after the savings that give me my pension income, while remembering I still have to live my life, and to ensure that I support my brother and sister, my closest relations now, however they need it.

ENJOY yourself. Try and do something everyday that I enjoy. Enjoying strictly results show even though I know who is leaving
Blimey CR, how did you know that? :D I like her. Yep, I liked watching that. And I like the feeling of things getting closer to being in control in the house. That's still fragile, but its happening. Planning a couple of things each week is starting to pay off now, I have half a dozen things over the next fortnight, and thats a **lot** for me.

MAKE an inventory of the food in your cupboards, fridge and freezer at the start of the month. Meal plan and shop from the cupboards, freezers and allotments first before visiting supermarkets.

I'm still rubbish at providing myself with enough variety.

BUDGETS should be set before the start of the month.

Paid my usual credit card off in full, and while I was at it, I counted out the bills that had to come out every month: council tax, water, leccy and fuel, broadband, and mobile phone. I'm working on all in that list, in reverse order, have a new sim.

    EXERCISE
Not great, but not nothing. I sawed through three trunks of the cherry laurel today, each of them was almost six inches in diameter. That felt like exercise!

    IN case of emergency

I'm getting used to taking my phone out with me, even when I go to the garden. Since I'm standing on a chair placed on rickety decking, so I can use a saw quite high up a tree trunk sometimes, I'm extra glad of it.

NOW is always the right time to start.
I do find it hard to start new projects sometimes, but I'm doing pretty well right now.

WINTER proof your home, if you haven't already done so.
Some of the old double glazing that was here when I moved in has blown. I can just get the windows replaced, not the frames, but its going to be a faff - three of the four windows that need doing have wooden venetian blinds installed. Maybe if its just the windows that need to be replaced, that won't matter?

YOU should cook from scratch when you can.
I don't really cook :o I just heat things, it's the only way I can cope with doing the other tasks that need doing. As mentioned, I don't get enough variety, though what I do get is very good quality.

    REPORT i'm here

KINDNESS costs nothing. Everyone you meet is carrying some sort of burden, so try to be kind, especially to yourself.
Yep. I work on this all the time.

NSDs - 12/20. Bought a candle making set today, it will be turned into homemade candles for xmas gifts. I am hoping to find a couple of pretty cups and saucers to turn into candles.
ORGANISE your time. - Busy day again, but still left some time for a final chill. Bf finished a few odd jobs that had been hanging around.
VALUES Pay off mum.- Mums fund £700 / £1200.
ENJOY yourself. Had a good day today

    Evening all

NSD number 10 today. Spent a couple of hours studying this morning, did a couple of jobs round the house and then went out riding. Weather was lovely, if a little windy. Have to make the most of these kinds of days when you have an outdoor hobby in winter!

Watched a film this evening with OH, painted my nails, put a tiny bit of fake tan on, did my hair - a nice bit of pampering in preparation for the new job tomorrow. Eek!

    Good morning Turtles,

Today is NSD #12 as I ended up spending yesterday.
Organising my time by getting up early, prepping for the day ahead & having a brew before the little people wake up !
Values-- made a list of essential things we are going to need next year- new Hoover, breaks for the car, the idea being any extra cash will go towards this list.
Budgets- I have about 30 quid left  So I need to be so so careful. Going over is not a total disaster , but I've got 500 in next month's budget that I'd love to be able to pay this off my car. Mum gave me 20 quid for the kids, moved this into savings for Butlins for them. They will need/want spending money & as its their only holiday next year I'd like to have a few treats.
Extra- put my name down for a half day on Friday. it's an extra 40 quid in the bank for next month :D

Got all my kids Xmas presents out yesterday & piled them up, they have enough :j I just need to pick my son's Hoover up from his Grandma & buy a few more little bits.
Next week sees our house savings tick over to 11k. :T Sounds a lot but it's still not nearly enough round here ,I need to keep plugging away :D

Hope your weeks all get off to a good start xx

Lcc - hope today goes spiffingly.
NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!
  • New week and payday for me on Wednesday :D. Budget is holding - just - but I will be squeaking by as I've started the Xmas present shopping. I am being sensible this year, but youngest's present has emptied my Xmas pot, some will be repaid by cash from relatives so not too bad. I do still have a good starting balance in my EF and house pots, which I'll top up rather than all my spare money going to Xmas, as it has in the past.

Spent as much as the weekend as possible outside, with a long walk Saturday and a run / shopping / allotment Sunday. Chilly but good to have some sun.

First pair of Xmas socks finished, so I can crack on with my gloves before I start the second pair.

Have a good week everyone :)

    Morning!

DH has the day off to recover a bit more from his dental surgery, so I am going to have to ignore him or nothing at all will get done around here!

All food for today from the cupboards. Will do some baking later, after hoovering.
Might set the stopwatch on my phone again and see how much I can get done in 45 minutes.

Somehow my kids have removed the white spray top off my deicer.
    Where is it?
    Somewhere in the car,
    Can I find it?
    No!

So need to remember while doing the bins and recycling that I could do with saving one of each shape of spray top nozzle, just in case.

    Happy Monday all!
