Oled tv screen burn

Bought from Currys on-line
So you go to this stellar retailer about your issues. What did they say? I see John Lewis seems to have let Right_Kerfuffle down.My nearly 5 year old Sony Android TV is very well, thanks for asking
Not an OLED then.If Sony refuses to satisfy my complaint I will take the issue through the small claims court
How old is the TV? Again, you should be going to the retailer, not the manufacturer.0 -
It's only 2 years old. It started recently, absolutely no problem until then. I contacted the shop and they put me in contact with a company who deals with the repairs. If they resolve it satisfactorily, then no problem but I have a feeling Sony does not want to accept responsibility for this.0

I haven't switched to OLED yet, I have a Toshiba 42" 1080p LCD that has lasted 12 years so far, but the scare stories where they rot after three years would put me off a bit (Organic LED).
To me OLED seems priced for early adopters who want the latest thing at any price and will replace it after a couple of years.0 -
The OLED prices are similar range to the high end LCD tvs that come close to the quality of picture but still have drawbacks.
55" go into the £1k+ range.0 -
Hi. Originator of this thread. PC World replaced panel on my LG Oled last November (2019). Guess what! Yep, you guessed right. Screen burn now reappearing even though we have been ultra careful over the last year. Will need to consider next steps but rest assured, if we buy new, it will NOT be Oled.0

Where the hell do, I stand????
LGOLED65B7V. Purchased April 2018, I wanted the best possible picture for my buck but as a pensioner had to take out the 0% finance offer to the tune of £2599 but got what I thought was a perfect TV that would last at least 10years.
Started getting screen problems March 2019, phoned Richer Sounds who put me on to LG and all was good a repair was scheduled and on the day a two man team turned up and replaced the screen, when they arrived I said the TV had been randomly switching off so they replaced the main board as well so thought I had a new TV the only component that wasn't changed was the power supply.
All good until December 2019 same problem with screen a blue line across the bottom of screen plus one side of the TV with linier lines about 3 inches apart. I phoned Richer Sounds as I had the 6 year warranty, only to find that it was a known problem with LG OLED screens and this was seen as normal wear and tear, They also said that they are gutted for me and said that they could maybe help me with a reduced price on another TV. I then mentioned a newer LG model and was met with the reply "why do you want to have another OLED" to which I replied "why are you still selling them”!
As I have no protection with a Credit Card company, and LG or Richer sounds can’t help, can I go down Small Claims and haggle that TV isn’t fit for purpose?
Can anybody can point me in the right direction PLEASE.

You would be better off starting your own thread.0 -
I've had the TV screen replaced, but its started with screen burn again. I'm wondering what causes it? I've read on the internet that turning down the brightness and avoiding static images helps. Is this true?0

Hi, I've got screen burn on my OLED TV too. Has anyone tried to replace their own TV screen? And if so, where did you buy the screen?0
