The court could strike the claim out. The courts know all about the antics of CEL

Assume you have read that CEL go so far and then discontinue at the last minute because they issued a fake claim

If the SAR produced info that the Letter of claim failed to include, then this should be brought to the attention of the court as you have not been given a fair opportunity to respond

Keep your eye on this as CEL has been known to say they will NOT attend court and they do, giving a default because you did not turn up.

CEL will be one of the first companies to be sanctioned once the new bill comes to play.

Thanks so much - I certainly will be watching this like a hawk, I have a feeling it won't be the end of it!

£331 is fraud, pure and simple. Have you reported the solicitors to their regulatory body, the SRA, you should.

    http://www.sra.org.uk/home/home.page

and the PC to your MP

It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business. Hopefully that will take place in the near future.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Astounds me that they can keep getting away with it!!! It was only because I took the time to do my homework and not just roll over and pay that I didn't end up being defrauded out of £300 quid! Even if I was to loose in court I would pay less - Thieving scum!!!
  • Hi again all...so submitted a defence on 1st November and received an acknowledgment from the court to say that CEL needed to respond to the court within 30 days. So far I have heard nothing further from either CEL or Northampton business Centre. Should I be concerned?? I thought I would have heard something by now either way but I could be wrong? I tried to call the court today on my lunch break but gave up after holding for almost 25 mins (I only get 30 mins for lunch)

the court is behind, but if CEL have failed to respond then the claim may be stayed, only the CCBC can tell you (if they answer the phone and werent so busy)

for now, no news is good news

if the CCBC decide that it is stayed, it costs £100 I believe to lift the stay, in which case CEL wont bother

dont be in a rush, the CCBC isnt

What does your status say on MCOL?
If mcol doesn't help You've got no choice but to keep calling
As a worst case complete a DQ TODAY n180 and send in. No penalty for sending it before the court asks for it, big penalties if you miss the deadline.

Redx- the concern would be the cour has sent a DQ out and it's been lost in the post.

Sounds like CEL ...... if they don't respond the court will strike it out.
CEL are well known to discontinue but DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYE OFF THE BALL .... make sure you find out from the court.

Never assume anything about CEL they even pretend to not going to court then turn up.

100% NOT TO BE TRUSTED ... PURE ANIMALS
