Yep, not a million miles away although I'm somewhere in West Sussex.

I've spent much of this delightfully wet bank holiday preparing my witness statement and I'm nearly there.  But one thing I was wondering - I'd quite like the opportunity to respond to theirs - but they may leave it until the last minute.  Is there any process for responding later - or would I just need to be prepared to do that verbally at the hearing?

You can submit a supplementary witness statement providing that you send a copy to the claimant as well as the court - of course they can send a supplementary countering your supplementary!

Thanks.  I suppose I was wondering what happened if it was past the initial filing deadline?

You make sure that you initial WS is filed and served on time.  The supplementary will either be accepted by the court or not.  If the court do not accept it due to being late, just raise the points at the hearing.

In many of the court reports we receive, the defendant gets the chance to say very little!  There's unlikely to be the opportunity to showboat your case, or take issue with the claimant's WS in any detail.

Thanks. That's helpful. Slightly depressing. But helpful :-)

I wouldn't worry about it. Walton has started discontinuing his cases, you won't ever get the opportunity to say anything if that happens.

Sorry to keep asking questions, but I'm a bit confused.  I just emailed my witness statement to the court as required.  I've just received an autoresponder email which mentions a limit on email attachment size which was not mentioned in the letter from the court.  My pdf is over the limit.  Has anyone encountered this before?  Do I need to reduce the size of my pdf somehow?

I've re-sent the thing as a smaller file.  What a hassle.
