dlb bad luck with the kitchen. It was kind of you to mention crazychik though. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.
redruby Congrats to your dd on her stage debut. :T And keep your spoons away from that mars voddie!!BTW how many mars bars did you put in? I have a 70cl bottle with three full-size mars bars. Should I put more in?
elona my DS had the same procedure done for his braces and poor DD may need even more teeth out as she doesn't even have room in her mouth for her eye teeth to come through. Oooh! Reminds me, must phone dentist as orthodontist says she is not on their waiting list yet.
Well my morning of housework turned into a trip to the Tesco Extra at Blackpool followed by a visit to Matalan. Spent very little and only on things I need so I'm very proud of myself.
Just had some lunch and now need to get cracking before I pick DS and DD up from school."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi all
just a little celebratory, pat myself on the back post.
My parents were very old style down to need more than choice and they could whip up loads of different dishes and as children we ate very well, healthy and varied food.
However although I can cook savoury dishes, I am no domestic goddess.
But at the moment I am on Maternity Leave and want to learn to cook so I can make treats for and with my 4 yr old daughter (and for my 4 month old son when time comes)
Anyway today I have made some apple purée, carrot and broccoli purée. I have also made some melting moment biscuits for dd and dh for later.
So I am giving myself a big hooray!!:T:T:T0 -
Well done shimmigirl! :T
I'll add your post into the daily thread where Old Stylers chat about what they've been up to during the day.

Churchmouse wrote: »SnowyOwl, you do NOT have to go on a bakeware buying shopfest:eek: The instructions for ALL ovens include maximum sizes for baking sheets and roasting tins. (I'm not pretending that I adhere to these, but I have noticed them
) Now the bakeware I use happened to be *within size* for my last gas oven. The newish fan oven which is the same size as the old gas one says these tins are way beyond the maximum size,
What!!!! you mean you actually read your oven instruction booklet!!!????!!
I didnt think anyone done that!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Dd's room looks fantastic now I've blitzed it. Removed one bin liner full of rubbish, found all the stuff she claims to have lost, reorganised everything. Just have to persuade her to keep it that way
I've also made 2 doz muffins and 4 doz flapjacks, and cooked up a bag of mixed beans and a bag of chickpeas for the freezer.
And I've done some online Christmas shopping :j0 -
