P-P - no that is just the way many males do, they have to moan and groan to make it sound difficult and make them look good.

Today going to finish washing I didnt get done yesterday. should be able to get it hung outside.

Well had a mild panic yesterday when OH rang to ask if his brother could come and lodge with us. After a long chat last night OH has now decided that it would be too much hassle. Phew that was a close one! His brother is a nightmare and his girlfriends even worse. The 2 of them are druggy’s and their year old baby is living with OH’s sister. (Best place for him) his brother wants a break from his GF. We have heard it all before and after the last time I put my foot down and said I won’t be took for a mug anymore.
I’m off to the hospital later this morning, to get my MRI scan results. Dreading it to be honest. I hate the unknown. And OH’s working so can’t take me.
Not much OS going on here today. Will see what happens when I come back from the hossie.
Be good all will pop in after I get back

Morning everyone :hello:
Well done on completing your essay Jannyannie :j
Snowy...I don't care what anyone says about drivel.....I found that discussion about bakeware absolutely riveting.
Nice to see you here Pipkin!
Hope your DD is better soon Icemaiden.
Any news of your SIL grannybroon? I have been thinking of him since you told us what was wrong the other night but you haven't mentioned him. Has he had more tests?
Aussie....Hope all is well with you. x
Churchmouse.....Did you make it to the gym?
Good luck with the results Ellie
Hope you got some more sleep Pam
Boring day here....Hoping to cook some sauces for the freezer as I bought a glut of cream reduced to 10p last night. The bathroom needs some attention and the house could do with a dust...The joys of a real fire.
Then I'm going to make a start on the Christmas present list.
Small cat is causing problems. Our other cat will not eat anything unless it comes out of a tin that says whiskas. This thing eats everything in sight and this week has had 2 pork chops and some of last night's roast. When she fancies some milk she just knocks over one of the girls' glasses. I'm not used to having to hide things from cats but I think I need to be on my guard......or buy her a muzzle.
Take care all.

Good morning everyone
I noticed the spammers have hit the OS forum today.
ellie hope everything goes well at the hosp today.
pen-pin good luck to you to at the hosp today. Hope you notice some improvement soon. Must be tough writing essays when you really feel like carp.
Sounds like a few of you have a lunchtime siesta planned. I couldn't do that even if I was exhausted. I wouldn't be able to sleep that night and I hate tossing and turning in bed while clock-watching.
Have just sterilised a large kilner bottle so that I can make mars bar vodka for my niece's Christmas. If it works out ok, I can see it becoming a regular gift to my older nieces and nephews.
Planning on making Spanish Casserole for dinner tonight but could be stuck time-wise as DS and DD have optician's appointments after school and then we will be going to DS's bank to pay in some birthday cheques followed by the library and M&S.
Someone played a prank on DD and two other girls in the netball club yesterday by stealing one of their school socks.  So, going to buy quite a few extra pairs in case it happens again. May have a word with the club teacher so that she can mention it next week.
Other than that, my day will consist of housework, housework and more housework. Oh joy.
Ooooh! Forgot to mention that one of my neighbours has put her Christmas tree and decorations up.   I know it's November but Christmas still seems like a long way off to me for some reason this year.
Have a tremendous Tuesday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning all,
Snowy, It’s good to see you starting the thread again!
Mrs Mcawber, your hampers sound great.
Hello Pipkin :hello:
mioliere, the photograph album is a lovely idea.
Thriftlady, have fun in your daughters bedroom…it would be a brave person who would go into my dd’s room to investigate behind the bed.
Ellie, good luck at the hospital.
Anniebooklover…..A Christmas tree in the first week in November!
Haribo and churchmouse…you two should be ashamed of yourselves!
Thank you all for your lovely posts yesterday….I’m feeling a lot better today. I took Ds to the doctor and he said that there is a reduction in his hearing and some water in his ear. He gave him some decongestants and said that if they don’t clear it up within two weeks then he’ll refer him to an ENT specialist. It’s such a relief to be having it dealt with....I don’t think I can stand another silly conversation where I am talking about one thing while ds is talking about something completely different because he hasn’t heard me properly and we both get totally frustrated because neither of us understands what the other is on about. It was funny the first few times it happened, but now it’s beginning to drive us all nuts!
It’s a lovely, sunny, crisp morning here so I may have a wander around town later to look for some inspiration for Christmas. I’m also hoping to do some baking today, but my baking tends to be a bit hit and miss. After reading yesterdays thread I think it must be because I have a fan oven…obviously nothing to do with my baking skills (or lack of them).
The house is quite tidy because dd is still in Spain. It’s amazing how having one less person around can make such a difference! The fact that dd has a habit of creating chaos wherever she goes probably has a lot to do with it. I think she probably takes after Auntie Haribo. Even so, I’ll be very very glad to see her and her mess back home tonight! :j
Tea will be pasta with a chicken and cream sauce of some sort….I have some cream that was reduced and needs to be used or frozen today, so I’m off to have a look for recipes.
Have a good day everyone,
Pink0 -
morning all,
I have not just got up honest, been up since 6.15, have done all my housework :A , and the school run, got a line of towels blowing away on the line, its beautiful here again, bright and sunny, apparantly its going to turn really cold here on friday, Amie and Jamiedoger, you live close to me so be prepared for the cold x
Just need to make a shepherds pie for tea, Pen Pin, I think thats your favourite so will send you a bit over, hope the hospital visit goes well xx
Not picking DD up untill 5 tonight, so I have the whole day to myself, might sit and write my xmas cards, this afternoon whilt watching some carp on the tv.
DD got into the school production this year, do you remember she went for an audition? , well it has given her a real ego boost, so it must be a good thing x
Has anyone in Scotland got snow yet ? it said on the weather this morning that you might have some ?
anniebooklover, I have mase mars vodka, and its b****y lovely, my spoon slipped in the kilner jar, but I am saving the rest for xmas.
Ellie, good luck at the hospital, fingers crossed for you, let us know xx
Icemaiden, hope your DD feels better.
Pipkin, hope you don't get the lurgy x
Thriftlady it really does not get any better with girls bedrooms, my DD is 12, and I still have to wear a de-contamination mask when I go in there x
well off to have some breakfast
xx0 -
Just thought I'd catch up after I did the ironing (yes, it's ALL done) and before I do the paperwork.
PENPIN - (((hugs))) thinking of you and good luck with the course work.
Welcome PIPKIN - good to hear from you. If you have got the 'thread cold' take good care of yourself.
STEF - well done to DD being picked for cross-country - I used to love that many years ago.
ICEMAIDEN - hope DD is feeling better today.
ELLIE - well done for being firm re your BIL. Good luck at the hospital.
PINK-WINGED - hope DS's ear is sorted out soon. MyDS2 had lot of ear trouble when he was a teenager resulting in a series of operations which, fortunately, finally put it right although, when you talk to him, you have to aim for his 'good' ear because he has reduced hearing in the other one.
Well, the postie has just been and bought me a Rexel Pulsar stapler that I vaguely remember signing up for a few weeks ago. Despite having done quite a few comps, I still haven't won anything so I'm treating this as a 'win'!
Anyway, see you all later.
kathyXX
REDRUBY - congratulations to your DD.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Morning all! Just got a few seconds to pop in and say a massive thank you to all those who sent condolences on the death of my friend, they are sooo appreciated!
Not got a lot of time this morning because unbeknown to me OH has taken the day off work and is champing at the bit to get on this computer:mad: however it's time I was showered and scraping the grime off the bathroom I suppose.
Nice and sunny here again today, just as well as he brought back a whole basket full of dirty washing from his trip to the Lake District. You CAN go off people very quickly you know...
I'm sorry not to have time to send best wishes to particular bods today but love and hugs to you all, and thank you again for your kind thoughts re Wendy.
