- Am going to check out this Asda card - essentially it's £6 for free. Not a lot but something. We shop in Asda anyway so I was thinking of just putting the monthly food budget onto it and getting the free money! I guess technically I could get more than one? I wonder when it would expire? https://cards.asda.com/card/ChristmasSaving

Evening all
Bad night's sleep again due to coughing , but I was determined not to waste the day, so I have:
Tidied up downstairs, put some stuff away and hoovered round
Sourced and ordered a new filter for the dishwasherone thing breaking after another atm, yesterday I had to replace a shower hose. At least they aren't very expensive items and we can replace them ourselves - so far!
Lots of washing up as couldn't use the dishwasher
Checked banks, must update my spreadsheet
RM surveys stuff
Tiny bit of paperwork for business
Still no heating, although it has been a horrible, rainy, murky day, it isn't actually cold. Haven't lit the stove for a couple of nights either, just no need!
Made Nigel Slater's pot roast pheasant with celery and sage for dinner. Used food I already have - no shopping today (except blimmin DW filter). Pheasant carcase now in sc for stock
Going to get an early night as I am babysitting tomorrow.0 -
Evening, a bit of a late start to the thread this week! Better late then never
I had a great time at my sisters wedding on Saturday- all went well and it was a beautiful day overall. I have only just about recovered from it all as there were plenty of late nights/early rises which messed with my body clock. I managed to stick to the budget I had set and now have some cash leftover which can go towards other things.
The only downside of the weekend was when I was leaving the venue on Sunday. I reversed into parking area behind me to turn around when a upcoming car which was behind started beeping their horn indicating to me to hurry. I ended up pulling out too quickly and scratched all down the side of my car against a wall. I was absolutely gutted when I got out to look at the damage. It was a total moment of panic which will now result in me shelling out for the body repair work. I have contacted someone we know who is coming to look at it on Thursday and will give me a quote. Due to the damage, I am expecting it to be quite eye-watering costly but I don't want to leave it as it is. I have some money set aside in my 'car fund' to cover this and will use other savings if needed.
Yesterday was a NSD, as I was working most of it. I then came home and had dinner with my uncle before having an early night.
Today, I have just spent the day chilling out and catching up on any missed sleep. I am not feeling too well and suspect I have a chest infection. If my symptoms don't improve by Thursday, I will get myself booked in at the doctors. I only recently completed a course of antibiotics last month for a chest infection- it seems I am susceptible to them especially due to my nature of work. I seem to pick up everything that is going and the slightest cold/cough goes straight to my chest making me wheezy and rattely. I should probably book a seperate appointment to discuss this and see if it's worth ruling out anything such as asthma. I have never had issues before but in recent years I always end up with at least one bad chest infection- last year it was pneumonia and pleurisy. I need to be careful that it does not develop into this again.
So with feeling sorry for myself today, I have ended up having a bit of a spend day. I have an obsession with pretty stationary and saw some things I liked. They were all low prices so I have justified it somehow. It means I now have enough pens to last me a while! Everyone always laughs at my pen collections- I guess its cheaper then a shoe obsession! I like the novelty of them all and I am always on the lookout.
I also bought my friend a present for Christmas which I think she will like and most definitely will use. It has come under what I had budgeted for her so I am happy with that and it is one less person to buy for. Once my online banking has updated it, I will transfer funds across to cover the costs. I really need to start brainstorming ideas for others now.
I am not going mad this year on christmas presents and have really dwindled down my list of who I am buying for. I have bought some token gifts for others- if anything, more so to show my appreciation to wards them for what they do.
I do not have much else planned for the rest of the night.
I have filled in some registration forms that I had been putting off, for another sport activity the boy would like to pursue and that will start next week. I will rejig the budget to cover this.
I might have a sort out through one of the shelves in my bedroom and clear out what is not wanted or needed. I seem to accumulate all sorts of rubbish/tat and it all builds up until I have no idea what to do with it. My overall aim is to totally declutter my room with the hope to redecorate next year. I also need to sort out through my piles of letters that I have pushed to one side.
Anyway, I best get on. I aim to have an early night, ready for work again tomorrow.Chandelier.
