She could be, Thats why I didn't tell anyone where I am staying and they've been contacting me on my work mobile.

Strangely my dad took it very well, told me to move back home till I get sorted and back on my feet.

    Mum seemed angry.

Dad text me saying he thought he was a mistake and he's glad I've seen sense.

Dads are great, aren't they :D

Well done on being courageous and doing the right thing.
What a daft thing for him to say! It was a gift so you don't owe him anything. It's your property so technically you didn't even have to give it back but you obviously tried to be fair. Do as the others say and don't respond to him. good luck for the future!

OP I think you know all the answers yourself by now.

No more contact. Ignore, ignore, ignore.

Let him take you to court, but take note..... you are NOT to pay his costs for this!

Oh and as others have said, you dodged the marriage contract bullet there, well done! Would be much more difficult to disentangle from a marriage contract. But you are nothing to each other anymore.

Best of luck for a brighter future.

I know it is easy for me to say, but sit back and laugh now.

That is incorrect. It is a gift in anticipation of marriage, which did not occur and therefore must be returned. (Assuming he paid for it !)
