    Morning

SSG - thank you. It was supposed to snow this morning and they expected issues with travel but I don't see a snowflake yet.

Pup usually vacates the foot of my bed just before I get up but this morning he was nowhere to be found. I had reheated my hot water bottle about 4 as I woke up freezing and then got rid once I was boiling. Pup was curled up under the duvet in the corner on top of the hot water bottle and was not for budging....kind of says how cold it was in the house this morning.

I got it wrong yesterday and payday is today :). I joined M&S bank so that I could separate bills from general living expenses and I have to say it is starting to work as my work pays into both and I have a set amount going into general living and the rest into the bills account. The bills account gets anything extra and very very slowly is starting to see a teeny tiny surplus but I would rather have that than nothing.

I'm in work and I'm helping a colleague prepare for an interview. I have my running gear in and really not that many other plans. I was at a volunteer thing last night which meant I got about 20 mins to myself last night but will try and make a dent on the minutes tonight.

Spends this week - nephew no 2 birthday so that is £20 and I think that is it of the planned spends.

Time to do some work and look productive.

    Hi all,

I'm going to put down here the trips/events I have planned/almost planned but really looking forward to in 2019 :D. I also need to save up some money for the plans and figure out where I can make extra money  - back to surveys & Prolific.

    End January update

    • April - Dublin (3 nights - volunteer thing) - cost to me £0
    • June - Glasgow (1 night - flights paid but need money for hotel room & spends) - £50/£[STRIKE]300[/STRIKE]
    • June - England (trip to sister but need flights and accommodation) - £0/£600
    • Aug - Spain (7 nights -not confirmed) - £0/£1000
    • Sept - England - (2 nights - volunteer thing) - cost to me £0
    • Oct - Dublin (volunteer thing) - cost to me £0 (unless I hit the shops:o)
    • Nov - Sri Lanka (2-3 weeks) - £1,500/£[STRIKE]2,500
      [/STRIKE]

    Spends needed - £4,400
    Spends saved - £1,550 (35%)

I'm guessing the costs for most of the above but hoping not to be too far off or a bit under. Spain and visit to sis might not happen as it depends if Sis #2 can afford Spain (her idea to go on holiday). Sis no 1 might want to just come home rather than us go over to visit. My volunteer events away are very social and I'm looking forward to them.
  • Lots of lovely trips on the cards there Munchin. Hope you reach your total.

  • Wow your trips sound great :). Separating your pay into bills and general living expenses sounds like a good way of managing your money. I think I'm better at real pots than virtual pots.

    Morning all,

I'm in work and waiting to go to a meeting at 11.15 which kind of puts a spanner in the works of getting my teeth into anything now. I'm fairly tired this week and keep hoping it's going to lift but it hasn't yet. It might just be the weather and the general darkness at this time of the year or maybe I should just hibernate for a bit :).

I helping out at a running event on Saturday and that is the main plans this week. I am picking up a Chinese for the family tonight and then meeting a friend for lunch on Friday so I think it's going to be heavy on my eating out budget.

Health wise - hoping for 2lb loss this week but really will be lucky if it's 1 as it's the bloated and tired week.

    Weekly spends - w/c 4th February 2019 :)

    Mon - £6.67 Mr T Groceries
    Tues - NSD 1 :)

  • I hope that you feel less tired soon Munchin. I'm sure the dark, cold mornings don't help, but at least the evenings are gradually getting lighter now.

Thanks SSG & HHD, hopefully now that it is starting to be brighter later at night it should make a difference.

I lost 3lb this week, which brings me to my first stone :j. I’m hoping my healthier eating, losing weight and running more will turn me into an energiser bunny :). I also thought that as I am nearly always low in iron I should start taking my vitamins again.

Friday I met a friend for lunch & then did a shop in Mr Ts.

Yesterday I was at a cross country and it was great craic. Then came home and tidied big time. Today I’ve done my run in the forest with pup and been to mass. I have big slobby sweatshirt on and once I have done some paperwork I plan on having a lazy day.

Tomorrow I’m working close to home so will get more sleep and then next weekend I’m going out with my friends and sis is home with kids so I have a few days leave. Have a lovely week ahead.
